This Sunday you can find A Single Bite at the market exit @asinglebiteorg is a nonprofit organization founded by @fostersupplyhospitality. A Single Bite educates and empowers young people to care about the food they eat and where it comes from. When COVID-19 closed schools, the nonprofit began to provide free, healthy meals to help feed local families who are seriously at risk for hunger. Hunger and unreliable access to nutritious food are on the rise in Sullivan County. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 16.8% of households are unable to provide enough food for family members. Children represent a staggering 28.7% of those numbers, an increase of 10%. In response, A Single Bite has already prepared and distributed more than 46,000 healthy meals up to 2,500 servings per week to families in Sullivan County.
