Two good news things today...... 1. Tuesday Night pistol league....In addition to normal shooting starting at 6PM, the good folks from Ingenious Gun Works in Naples are going to be there with their fantastic mods for 1911's. If you are a fan of these pistols, their mods only make it better. We will have a 1911 there for you to try and compare to your own. The change in trigger action and accuracy is amazing.... 2. Beginning August 13th, we will closing the rifle and pistol... ranges on Thursday afternoons from 11AM until approximately 5PM to open the Sporting Clays facilities one additional day per week...open to members and non-members to shoot....come see us, shoot some clays and see what we are all about. This change will last at least until Thanksgiving, to see how it works out. Also, Membership renewal time is this month...our membership year begins and ends 8/31 each year....time to ante up for another year of the joy of shooting.

Tuesday Night pistol League...$5.....Shooting starts at 6, come unloaded and holstered or cased....RSO's have control of the range Have some fun, sharpen your skills, take your mind off all the other crap going on in the world, and, c"mon,...you know you want to shoot something....Have fun, shoot safe.

Remember , Tuesday night pistol league starts this week, July 14 at 6 PM.....and OK, I've heard enough bitchin, so the fee will be reduced to $5 per gun.......Have fun, see you there Special added shooting hours next week for Sporting Clays....announcement late this week

How about some good news..... 1. To honor the NYS Sporting Clays Championships being held July 24-26 at Brooks in Rush, in addition to our normal shooting schedule, we will be open for sporting clays shooting for members and non-members on Thursday, July 23, from 9 AM until dusk....Come practice, just shoot for fun, and have a good time ....and remember that we will be having normal hours on Wednesday, July 22 as well. 2. We will begin our Summer Pistol League at 6 PM on ...July 14. Open to members and non-members, $10 first gun, $5 each other gun. All Club and CDC rules and regulations as to Covid -19 precautions will be adhered to. Range Safety Officers will be in charge of the course at all times. More information will be availably on the first night. Looking forward to seeing you here. 3. OK, the time has come....Effective June 28, the Club will be open to all members, guests and to non-members who wish to shoot Sporting Clays or 5 -stand only. Normal hours are in effect, check out our new web site, www.CSCshoots.com, for specifics. We will be adhering to all Club and CDC guidelines, so please bear with us if we have to gently remind you to shoot and be safe.....not stupid. Canandaigua Sportsmen's Club will be opening for MEMBERS USE ONLY as of 5/16. Regular shooting schedule will be followed. Clubhouse is closed for now. ALL CDC guidelines, social distancing and masking, are in effect and Club rules still stand - Both will be rigorously enforced so as not to repeat the events of the last few weeks. Also, look for announcement soon about our new web site....easier to use, more information and more interactive. New membership are now availabl...e....Our regular membership year is August 31 to August 31. At this time, we are offering a new membership for $180 from now until 8/31/2021 ( Normally $150 /year) $170 if purchased in July, $160 if purchased in July......and remember, 5 hours of documented volunteer work will earn you a $75 discount on renewal in 2021. Renewal information for existing members will be forthcoming. For new member information and to schedule an appointment, leave a message at the club phone, and I will return it as soon as possible. Due to COVID-19 and the governor's executive order, the Club is now closed to ALL members and non-members for ALL activities until further notice. Please do not violate this order. Neighbors are notifying government officials when they see activity at the Club; do not jeopardize our charter! Thank you.

We have been advised that, due to the restrictions imposed legally and morally by the Covid-19 pandemic, the DEC has authorized the creation of an online Hunters Education course for the period 4/15/2020 to 6/30/2020. Still open to members only to enjoy their chosen sport. The Homeland Security directive that ranges were exempt was an advisory to each state to modify their exempt lists....surprise, NY has not done that, because Albany thinks it is in NYC...and has forgotten about all of us red haired stepchildren upstate......we are different.....and don't send your infected people up here ....If we all will just get off our lazy asses and vote this fall, we can get rid of the virus in Al...bany.... That being said, I will be at the club this Sunday, April 5, 2020 from 9AM to Noon, to take applications for new members as well as allow members to purchase birds on their card...... please, let's observe proper social distancing and sanitation protocols....I know you are dying to shoot, but I don't want to die so that you can......Thank you Dan Pitler, President
