Contact me now to get booked in. I will have a group class on Tuesday at 6pm and 7pm as well as a group class on Wednesday at 7pm so everyone can get their work in before I close until the 19th ... I hope ya’ll are as excited as I am to get Champii boy home. What many don’t know is, that Champ is Tequilas father. Which makes it all the more special that he is coming home.

Please remember to return your loaned Prong Collars as soon as you can. Some of them are special to me since they were handmade by a dear friend of mine. Read it, then read it again and after that read it a third time and then think about how much enrichment your dogs truly have. Its never too late to start changing your dogs life and to give them breed specific enrichment.

After her morning training, firealarm drills and retrievals comes the fun part for Odette. She absolutely loves the treadmill. People forget that Poodles are hunting dogs and they want to move. She has so much stamina she gets to go for at least 30-60 minutes almost every day.

Meet Viridien! This makes me beyond happy! Her owner and my friend Lindsay is doing such a phenomenal Job training her. You see Viridien is a Service Dog in Training and this is the first time she has tasked outside of the comfort of her home and outside the training facility. And it was not just a task to mitigate her owners disability, it was to reveal the gender of her baby. ... With this trick she showed that she is ready to move into a more public setting for training. Her retrieval is generalized, she is confident, had no issues with these weird balloons attached to the Keys and she understood the given command to fetch the keys when her handler told her to! Awesome job Lindsay Abrego and Viridien! And congratulations to your Baby Girl

Have Kids that leave your gates open all the time? This might be a nifty solution so long you have a weighted gate.

Last nights E-Collar class. Both dogs are learning how to turn off the pressure of the collar while still receiving a high level of reinforcement through food. Both dogs are on the road to become more neutral dogs towards other dogs too. www.k9college.net

Starting December 1st we will go back to a regular NON CHANGING SCHEDULE! I will put the new schedule out in Mid November. We will also offer new class packages that are more tailored towards your needs. We have found that the majority of you prefer private classes before they go into group classes and we will have that available. If you would like to get a headstart, we are fully booked for the current group classes and will let them run out so we can start fresh December 1...st. With this new package, however, you can already take a head start and book your privates throughout November so you can go into the group class in December. We will however, close from the 20st to the 31st in December since we have found in previous years that everyone is busy around the Holidays, and then pick up in January. :) https://k9college.net//4private-classes-6-week-drop-in-gr/

Our intermediate class from Tuesday where we predominantly worked on Not jumping on people, as well as out of sight stays and conditioning to stay with a stranger while the handler approached a different dog. This group is such an awesome group to work with and everyone is doing a phenomenal job with their dogs.

When you already have a dog that is out of control, reactive, fearful or even dangerous in certain situations and on top of that limited resources for vet bills and trainers.... don’t get a second dog. Because now you have two untrained dogs, double the food bill, vet bill, double the amount of time and effort you have to put into your dogs and literally double trouble!

If you don’t use it, you loose it! We sometimes let basic skills and behaviors slip because we are busy and don’t have the time to follow through. But the more we let it slip, the worse it is going to get. I have been neglecting basic crate manners for a while and had to go back to the very basics to reinforce good behavior. ... Either by themselves or even crated together (Tequila loves riding with Athos because she knows he gets all the goodies ). Tequila, I learned that very quickly, is not the type of dog where you can let bad behavior slip. She has to be reinforced on a daily basis and reminded that No, you can’t! and Yes, you have to! Or else she will try to control not only Athos but also me. So in the past few days we have simply followed through with the basic rules. Low and behold, it is starting to pay off.
