Cantalician’s first ever Egg Drop Challenge was a great success! We had SEVEN classrooms make it through all four rounds without their egg cracking, including the final round of a drop out of a second story window. Each classroom was given a set of the same materials to create a device to hold their egg. The materials included cardboard, milk cartons, balloons, straws, tape, coffee filters, string, and a cup. There was a lot of creativity! Huge thank you to Ms. Clemons from ...OT and her students for helping collect and sort some of the recycled materials for the classrooms to use and to the K-2 team for saving their milk cartons for a few days! Congrats to the following classrooms on their victories: From Pre-K, Ms. Shoemaker and Ms. Wrigglesworth’s classes. From 3-5, Miss Bitka’s class. From 6-8, Ms. Burke’s class. From High School, Ms. Tomasello, Ms. Linton, and Miss Ribar’s classes. A huge thank you goes out to Technology Teacher Miss Lowe for organizing the Egg Drop Challenge. Awesome job! Everyone loved it.

Did you know that one thing that makes Cantalician so unique is the hands-on work experience that students get to participate in, in the community on a regular basis? The Transition team makes it their goal to seek out a number of quality work opportunities that will prepare students for life after High School and beyond. One of the best job exploration and life-skills opportunities is actually in house - Here’s a group of students learning some light-manufacturing/packaging ...tasks at Cantalician’s division Diversified Labor Solution’s (DLS) inside Tri-Main Center. Although Matthew, Josh, and Robert are veterans when it comes to participating in this work opportunity, this month was Cole’s first time working there. He did an excellent job. Way to go, Cole and awesome job to the rest of the group! We’re so proud. #WorkOpportunities #HandOnLearning #Jobs #LifeSkills #Transition #VocationalSkills See more
