Fulton-Montgomery Community College is a part of the State University of New York system and is located on 195 acres in a historic center of New York State, approximately 40 miles west of the state capital, Albany. FMCC is a comprehensive, two-year college with an increasing enrollment of approximately 2,800 full- and part-time students, including approximately 100 international students from 25 countries and the New York City Metro Area. FMCC offers over 40 Degree and Certificate Programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree required in education, counseling, or a related field. Required knowledge and experience with delivery and requirements for services to disabled students, curriculum development, program development and implementation. Ability to set up and implement courses, workshops, supplemental instruction, tutoring and tutor training. Academic advising experience, working knowledge of student development theory, teaching and learning strategies, assessments, impact of culture on learning. Database and data collection experience. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. Three years related full-time paid work experience/one-year college-level teaching experience, preferably in math or English preferred. SUMMARY OF MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The QUEST Learning Services Coordinator determines student eligibility, assists in assessing educational, career, financial and personal needs, monitors and records individual student progress, develops and manages the tutoring component and develops learning clusters and learning groups. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: 1. Interviews students to determine eligibility for the QUEST Program. 2. Assists students in assessing educational, career, financial and personal needs and developing educational plans. 3. Coordinates with and refers students to College and/or community resources as needed. 4. Coordinates usage of QUEST classroom space. 5. Monitors and records individual student progress. Assists with project evaluation and data collection for project performance reports. 6. Develops and coordinates the tutor component of QUEST, including peer tutor recruitment, training, and the development of Learning Clusters and Assisted Learning Groups. 7. Perform other incidental duties related to those that are listed above.

Two New Grant Positions starting 9/1/15 : Tenure Track Faculty and Administrator Project Director CSTEP (Science, Technology Entry Program) : C-STEP (Science, Technology Entry Program) grant will increase the successful completion rates of underrepresented students in science and technology degree programs. Academic Advisor/Counselor: determines student eligibility, advises in career, financial, academic, personal areas, and acts as liaison to 4-year institutions. Requires MA.../MS in student development, education, counseling, social sciences or related field. (3) years experience working with disadvantage/underrepresented students, knowledge and experience with advising/retention/student development, and Spanish language skills preferred. Salary: $38,827. Project Director: will manage CSTEP staff, support compliance efforts, advise program participants and advocate on Campus and in community. Requires MA/MS in science, technology education, counseling or related field and (2) years administrative experience in grant funded programs (preferably at College level). Experience with assisting disadvantaged/underrepresented students, & fiscal and programmatic compliance with NYS Dept. of Education regulations preferred.
