NATIONAL DAUGHTER’S DAY When it comes to offspring, National Daughter’s Day reminds of the young women and girls in our lives. On September 25th, spend time with your daughter. Daughters bring a certain kind of joy into our world. Like all children, they have their own personalities and strengths. As parents, we look forward to discovering the world through their eyes.... Depending on where you live, International Daughter’s Day is observed on the Fourth Sunday in September. Elsewhere the day might be observed on October 1st. No matter when you celebrate, the day provides an opportunity to show your daughter genuine support, encouragement, and love. In some countries, daughters face a rough start in the world. They are sometimes denied an education, equal employment or even healthcare. Sons are put before them and given priority. Social stereotypes set certain expectations of behavior for daughters including how they dress and behave. The day offers us an opportunity to be thankful for our daughters and to find ways to ensure daughters around the world have every opportunity to succeed.

AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMEN’S DAY On September 22nd, American Business Women’s Day honors the accomplishments of the businesswomen across the nation. Take a moment to reflect on the contributions and achievements of the millions of women in the workforce. Also, consider the impact of millions of women business owners in the U.S. The day also brings together businesswomen of diverse occupations to collaborate and network. The opportunity provides insight into platforms and inspira...tional ways for women to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally. Workshops and seminars offer leadership, education, networking, and national recognition. Through small businesses and corporate leadership, women provide a variety of skills in the business world. They set examples for young women driven to become leaders themselves. Generation after generation pave the way for new and inspiring professionals. On September 20th, Pepperoni Pizza Day recognizes the most popular pizza ever created. The day celebrates the pizza enjoyed by young and old alike. While pizza comes with many different toppings, pepperoni is the single most popular pizza. Whether you like your pizza Chicago Style or New York Style, thin and crispy or deep dish, top it with pepperoni! According to legend, Raffaele Esposito created the first pizza in June of 1889. The Queen of Italy, Margherita of Savoy, inspi...red the pizza maker so much, he created the pie-shaped delicacy. In the queen’s honor, he named it Pizza Margherita and topped the pizza with tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella. The colors represent the Italian flag. Since then, pizza has evolved. It includes a multitude of toppings from anchovies and pineapple to sausage and bacon. However, pepperoni remains the most popular. Italian-Americans developed the ever-popular topping through time-honored sausage making techniques. Seasoned pork and beef sausage are smoked and cured. Once the product is ready to be sliced, it’s placed on a delicious pie and baked. #PepperoniPizzaDay
