11/17/2020 Scam Alert The Sheriff's Office has recently become aware of of a fraud/scam case that has been circulating the area recently. People are being contacted through email for various jobs or task or work from home, for a quick return on easy money. The individual will send you a check to deposit, and after you deposit the check they ask you to send them all or a portion of the money back to them through a cash app or to obtain other supplies. Once the money is sent... back to the individual, the check deposited is returned for insufficient funds or canceled, ultimately leaving the individual responsible for the money which is anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000. The Sheriff's Office wants to remind residents that easy quick money making schemes are generally fraudulent and will leave the victim with a tremendous amount of debt. MISSING PERSON LOCATED BE ADVISED DONIELLE STOREY HAS BEEN LOCATED.

Missing Person Search Town of Mansfield On 11/1/2020 at 12:44 am, Donielle M. Storey, 28, of Little Valley was involved in a motor vehicle accident at Bedient Hill Rd and Schuppenhauer Rd in the Town of Mansfield. She was not located at the scene of the accident and may have been injured. Deputies are concerned for Donielle's well-being and have been attempting to locate her. A search was conducted in the area of the accident on November 1, 2020 and is continuing today. Deputies are requesting anyone with any information in regards to Donielle Storey's whereabouts to please contact the Sheriff's Office at 716-938-2217.

National Pill Take Back Day 10/24/2020 On Saturday October 24, 2020 the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the US Drug Enforcement Agency, will be holding its semi-annual National Pill Take Back Day. The public can drop off prescription and non-prescription medication for proper disposal. We will not be taking any Sharps during this take back. The following locations will be staffed by the Sheriff's Department on Saturday 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. ... Main St Delevan Anyone who previously used the disposal location at the Cattaraugus County Office Building in Olean is encouraged to drop their medications off at the Olean Police Department, 101 E. State St, Olean.
