Malika Booker, the first British poet to become a Cave Canem fellow, has won Best Single Poem in the Forward Prizes for Poetry with "The Little Miracles," inspired by her experience of caring for her mother. TOMORROW, October 28 at 6 pm EST, Cave Canem and The New School Creative Writing Program presents "Poets on Craft: Writing the Life Of...," an intimate meeting-of-the-minds with poets Rita Dove and Janice N. Harrington. The poets give short readings from Dove's "Sonata Mulattica" and Harrington's "Primitive: The Art and Life of Horace H. Pippin," followed by a conversation with Natasha Oladokun about writing poetry that envisions the lives of prominent Black artists. Supported by American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation.
