I’ve taken #myCentralPark for granted most of my adult life, until the pandemic when I realized what a gift it is. I love the Park in the winter, especially the sculptural effects of the trees. I still remember the first time I pulled my three-year-old son in a homemade sled along the bridle path. He is now 38. As a Conservancy horticultural volunteer, I love being able to experience nature up close with like-minded individuals, while continuing to expand my interests. In addition, as a Kiosk Greeter, I love sharing my knowledge and excitement about New York and the Park with people from all over the world. Conservancy volunteer, Mary Share your Park story with #myCentralPark.

"We know that there are Black and brown people finding joy in the outdoors. We're as complicated and complex as everybody else, but we’ve been living in this world that prioritizes white subjectivity. That is something we are seeing white people grapple with over the past few months, even when it comes to greenspace."
