Please see the link regarding the Caribbean Research & Policy Center’s Caribbean Community COVID Vaccine Webinar originally hosted this past Saturday, 6th Feb...ruary 2021: https://youtu.be/RYHVzscz4vU The webinar presented a virtual presentation and discussion with healthcare providers, healthcare practitioners, civic and political leaders, cultural brokers, and academics with Caribbean heritage. The trusted Caribbean healthcare and scientific professionals in attendance provided relevant, science-based information about the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine. Additionally, the webinar also addressed the misinformation within the Caribbean Community in the USA, and the broader Caribbean region, in relation to the vaccines and other public health approaches. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our Community, it is important for our leaders, members of the Jamaican Diaspora communities, our people in Jamaica, and nationals across the region to have an opportunity to hear from our Caribbean professionals #congennewyork #COVID19

In honor of Black History Month here in the USA, the Consulate General of Jamaica, New York is paying tribute to important historical figures on every Sunday, t...hroughout the month of February. Our first feature is Marcus Mosiah Garvey Jr., O.N.H. Born in St. Ann Parish on 17th August 1887, Garvey spent many years traveling, in which he observed the poor living and working conditions of Black people in different countries. These experiences inspired him to start the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA), which encouraged self-governance for Black people, economic endeavors, and fighting racial inequality. Many in the early 20th century did not accept Garvey’s progressive ideas, but this did not stop him from pursuing his fight of racial justice in both Jamaica and the USA. Garvey passed away on 10th June 1940 was posthumously conferred with Order of National Hero in Jamaica in 1969. #congennewyork #BlackHistoryMonth #marcusgarvey
