Just want to thank my team for all the hard work. This trial was one of the toughest I have ever been involved in. Especially want to thank my co-counsel Todd Smith for all his work on the case. http://www.syracuse.com//syracuse_boy_17_not_guilty_of_mur

A woman who had been the victim of terrible domestic violence for years was forced to defend herself and her children from her abuser who was attacking her yet again. Tragically for everyone, he died in the confrontation that he initiated. Today, a jury of her peers sent her home to her children after being away from them for 17 months. There is no happy ending to this story. She lost the love of her life and their children lost their father, but now they can try to pick up the pieces and go forward with their lives together. I wish them the best.

A big victory for a client wrongfully accused. Special thanks to Gabe Ramos and Eileen Walsh for all their help with the trial!

Congrats to my client Jaquez on a well deserved not guilty verdict in Syracuse City Court today. It was a long trial and we had to do it twice but in the end justice was done.

In trial with Judge Miller this week. I'm fortunate to be able to litigate the case with Todd Smith as co-counsel. Assault First. Should be a good case.

Today, a man accused of serious and graphic sexual abuse of a 10 year old girl was exonerated. After more than a year, it was determined by the prosecution (as we had been pointing out) that the girl had lied. She had no physical signs of the abuse described. She had then told her siblings, her mother and the investigators from the DA's office that she had made the whole thing up to avoid getting in trouble with a counselor. As a lesson in how ingrained society to the "gui...lty until proven innocent" mantra, the prosecutor and the judge both referred to the girl as the "victim", until I objected and pointed out here that the only victim was my client who lost his job and had his life destroyed by this. After court, he hugged me over and over, but I had no words for him. Nothing I could say could make up for what he has been through for the last year. Case dismissed, but was justice really done?
