CC4U UPDATE: On the eve before Thanksgiving we have a wonderful update. Yesterday morning Deputy Chief Alessi received a call from a family who first needed to know if CC4U was for real and it is the police who are truly helping anyone find treatment for their substance use disorder. Deputy Chief Alessi had a great conversation about CC4U. The family needed help and would call back later in the evening. Last night the family called back and their loved one spoke to Depu...ty Chief and myself about recovery and what we can do. We made a safe plan for the evening and they entered Chatham Police this morning. This soul had relapsed and heard about CC4U through someone who we had helped. The medical situation and insurance situation was complicated. After taking the time to just listen to the family, I was able to locate a proper treatment bed with insurance approval on the first call. One call. Thanks to MCAT for their assistance in our pre-screening process. Having experience in understanding insurance, treatment centers, and complicated medical conditions, i was able to find the correct treatment facility on the first call. So this Thanksgiving, let's give thanks to all who are involved helping those struggling with their recovery. Today is a thankful day at Chatham Police...the day before the official 'Thanksgiving."
