Its been awhile since I posted but not much going on. People starting back to work. Some people running out of unemployment, What to do next. ? I lost a lot of business this year with COVID. Some may be it was easier to try to do your own taxes, Fine. I understand. If you wish to come back please feel welcome. Some said I was to hard on them ok I expect people to meet deadlines. I am not your mother do what you feel is correct . You know when things are due I am not go...ing to hound you anymore. No more constant reminders. Lets turn this around for a moment if I had your paperwork and decided you can wait I will get to it and then missed a deadline you would all get very upset with me. Think about it. Anyway moving on in January you will have to think; if you started a business or said you owned one to get unemployment remember that business better show on your tax return. Do you know what is deductible? Do you know what forms you have to do? Did you hire a sub contractor for anything do you know that this year they are not 1099 Misc. They are NEC's and forms have to be filed. You know all those people you paid under the table they cost you. You can not write that money off unless you call it something else. They may have been on unemployment, welfare whatever you allowed them to collect free money. Now you will pay the tax for them. I understand we all want to help others but at some point this gets expensive for you. They may have been able to get an earned income credit if they declared what they ;made. Some just do not want to pay child support but these are their children don't you feel they need to live also. I do understand some of the spouses take the money and do not use it for the child but we cannot control there actions. Prove it and take action. My 20 payrolls went to 6. It was expected. Now Sales tax is right around the corner and I am still here. Some of my clients have received PPP loans and I can now start there payrolls again. The news said some companies can start opening May 15th and some more June 3rd. It would be nice. I know a lot of people are adding services, Some farms are now selling milk and other products. Maybe we can get back to some sense of normal soon. I still have people that have not filed there tax returns. Perhaps they did there own or what somewhere else and that is fine. Those that are ...waiting please do not wait until July 4th. Sales Tax is coming due shortly. March, April, May due June 20th Corps that ended in March are due June 15th so get the figures together or file extension. April is July 15th same thing. These are not extended to my knowledge. Of course with all the virus stuff I could have missed a notice.

Been awhile since I posted anything cause there is nothing going on. Taxes at a stand still except for people filing 2018 to get stimulus . A lot of questions on the stimulus IRS.gov will be the place to look where is my check. I have not gotten mine either. If you have changes to make Bank inf etc. it is on IRS.gov If you have not received your tax refunds I know nothing go to IRS.gov where is my refund Same with NYS Dept. of Taxation. Once it leaves here I do not have inf. REMEMBER NO ONE IS WORKING! If you have ever wanted your own business this is a good time to try. You have nothing to lose. Your bored sitting at home well create something. Study a new language, Do a craft, redecorate your room. The opportunities are endless. Look for the good not depression.

Just was called rude. I do not consider myself rude I do have a temper and I tell my clients that right up front. This person said they could not find the payroll reports I have been doing all year long and I was to redo them all for their loan application. They paid me. Yeah after many months of doing work that I guess they do not even look at. So I know they did not sent reports in and will be getting letters later. Can't find w2's so I am guessing they never got mai...led in either. These were mailed to them in January. So a year of wasting my time trying to make sure they file on time. Sending a bill with each quarter and getting no where but that is fine. I am rude. I was told I was overpaid. Fine I said they could go elsewhere and maybe they will find I was not that bad. I may be wrong and they will be treated like children and think the other firm is great. They could be put on retainer and be charges for every phone call like some other firms. After you miss one bill you get no more work done at all. I guess I am to trusting or just plain stupid. Sorry but I had to get this out of my system. If you are waiting for bank interest call them you may not have enough interest for them to have to send a statement. Usually $10.00 or more.

OK tax season is in full swing. Please note you no longer have to have proof of Medical Insurance. I have had several people say they are waiting for this to file. You may be waiting a long time. Also If your drivers license expired in 19 or early 20 please bring a new one with you. State of NY requires an ID.

Today a guy said he owes IRS a lot of money and I said bring in your tax returns to see if there was something missing. Whoo he had a 1099 but never took expenses. He said I was not self employed I worked for so and so. Well not according to this paperwork. SO we are going to refile and hope save him some money. You have 3 years to change a return.

Happy New Year., Yes I have seen the H&R BLOCK tv ads. Yes they are giving you an instant refund and starting very soon. BUT AT WHAT COST! If you need the money I understand. They will just take your refund to pay the money back. Wait till the 27th when IRS opens e file and have your refund in 10 days or less. FREE. You can file your own returns if you feel you are able. DO NOT use turbo tax please but there are a lot of free services . If you have questions I will be happy to do your return but it will not be free, I am not that expensive; remember this is my job and how I pay my bills.

Do you have questions about what is deductible this year you can go to IRS.gov and do the research. And remember State deductions are different then Federal so check out NYS Tax Department also. The web can be a great help. Of course you can call and set up a meeting with your questions also.
