Please enjoy this beautiful collaboration between CHQ Voice alumni Sydney Kucine and Matthew Pearce! Recorded virtually in the summer of 2020, this scene from Manon by Jules Massenet takes place at the end of Act 3. Manon Lescaut and des Grieux are lovers who planned to get married but then separated. They are brought back together at the St. Suplice church in Paris, France. Manon has found out that des Grieux has become an abbé (abbot). She is still in love with him and must see him once more. Manon arrives as des Grieux is praying. She asks for forgiveness for her faithlessness. He tries to reject her, but as she sings, he remembers their intimate moments and is overcome with her love. Their voices join together impassioned as their romance is sparked again.
