Hello friends: I have some news items to post. 1. I did some revisions to the prices at the stand. They goes as follows:... All apples in quart baskets $1.50, 1/2 peck bags $3.50, seconds/pie sauce apples in 1/2 pack bags $3.00. I discontinue all of the twofer. Mainly, customers were buying 2 quart baskets at a time anyways. Customers tend to only buy 1 bag of fruit at a time. I may run a twofer later in October, saucd apples sooner. Stay posted. 2. There are Macs and Macouns on the stand now. 3. I left Victor/Farmington/CGDA sellers group this morning because they dropped my Gala post. It was an administrative decision. In the past, no problem. Now, they consider my side gig a business. It is but only for two months out of the year. So, if they don't want my postings so I can sell things. Well, be it. There seems to be new selling groups popping up every month. 4. Follow my Twitter feed @chrispapples for more timely updates. It is easier to tweet than FB most days.

Summer Rambo apples

Chris P. Apple Orchards 14.12.2020

Funny thing happened to my sister the other day. Someone inquired about when are we going to start selling apples. Well everybody, here's my answer. We are on schedule to start selling in late August to early September in Bloomfield. Hopefully, we will keep everyone updated on social media via either on Facebook or Twitter (@chrispapples). Twitter is better for updates in season. Thanks everyone for your support, even it's 3 months early.

Status Report 6/6/2019: I sprayed the orchard this afternoon. It's going to be a great year. Observing the trees, we will have a heavy primary drop of blossoms. The secondary drop will be very light. I don't think the orchard will going through a 3rd drop this year. The forecast for the summer is calling for average rainfall. Unless we get into a extended dry period, the previously mension will stay true. With that. I feel we are going to have good fruit and average sweetne...ss. We are not forecasting any extreme heat, dryness or wetness. We will have our usual varieties available for sale at the stands. I have two exceptions, first the Yellow Delicious bloomed out but didn't set and we had only one Red Delicious tree set fruit this season. We will have a limited availability of Reds this fall. With anything agriculture, this is all subject to change. I am confident but it goes all away sometimes with a passing thunderstorm.
