Christian Orthodox Business Association

During the Winter Session of the Diocesan Council that took place on December 14, 2011 in Howell, NJ members of the Council discussed issues relating to several joint projects and events between the Eastern American Diocese and the Orthodox Business Association (OBA). Fr. Serge Lukianov spoke about the recent meeting between Association members and the Holy Cross Monastery Benevolent Committee to discuss joint projects to support monasteries. In particular, OBA initiatiated "...Project Kellia," to gather funds for monastic residences (Kelias). OBA has been collaborating with the Diocese on several other projects. The parishioners of Holy New Martyrs of Russia Church in Brooklyn, NY, received assistance in purchasing the church building they have been renting for several years. The Association is also helping several diocesan clerics by offering medical and legal assistance through their network of Orthodox professionals. Met. Hilarion expressed his sincere gratitude to OBA president Igor K. Popov and his co-workers for help with the purchase of the Holy New Martyrs Church and for the fruitful working relationship between the Diocese and the Association.
