The Legend of CC Hardy My father Raymond Churchill learned beekeeping from his uncle Charles Carol Hardy (aka CC Hardy). CC Hardy’s bees were originally located on East Gotham Road also known as Hardy road right here in Burrville. My father always told me CCs spirit was about the homestead and in the beeyard while I was growing up. Whenever footsteps were heard in the honey barns or some unexplained phenomenon happened, Dad would say (CC is up to his shenanigans again). It wa...s a spooky but interesting tale and I smiled when things happened. This legend remains with me till this day. Every Halloween CCs sprit seems to appear at dusk in the shadows of the bee yard as he works the bees. You can smell the smoke from his bee smoker. Wearing his white coveralls and bee veil you can sometimes make out his outline but you can sense his presence and his love for the bees!
