Today, with help from LaFever and Sons, we installed a dry hydrant on County Road 40. This pond, when full will be a valuable water source to the eastern part of our district.

This morning, crews headed to Portville for a joint training put on by Rogue Fire Training. Members from Clarksville and Portville split into 2 crews. While 1 crew learned different "nozzle forward" hose advancement techniques, the other crew work on obtaining water from positive and static water sources, relay pumping and master stream operations. It was a good day to flow water!

In the evening of September 22, 2020, CVFC units along with CVAS and MTS were dispatched to a reported ATV accident on Weatherby RD. CVFC chief responded immediately, quickly followed by CVFC E2, M4, B604 and chief 1. CVFC units were updated while en route that the accident was on a trail, approx 1/2-1mi off of Weatherby RD. CVFC Chief and CVAS EMS 2 located the access for the property and proceeded up the 1/2mi driveway to the cabin. All other CVFC/EMS units staged on the ro...ad with exception of B604. B604 with crew/EMS proceeded to the cabin and then began a search along with chief 1 to locate the accident site/victims. As units started up the trails, a family member of the property owner arrived on scene with better direction as to the accident location. Crews quickly located and assessed both pts and Mercy Flight was requested to CVFC LZ 1 (Fireman's park). E2 with crew proceeded to and established the LZ along with CVFC Captain. Command requested an additional UTV and ambulance from Portville Engine Company #1 to the scene to assist. Both patients, suffering from serious injuries, were assessed, packaged and transported to staging by CVFC/PFD UTVs to the awaiting ambulances. CVAS 8 transported to the LZ, Portville 8 transported to a local hospital. All crews were BIS by 21:00 See more
