The big question is in the event of a true emergency during the winter season, can we as firefighters access your property? Fire trucks have only become larger over the years resulting in more space needed to operate. Getting water in bulk for use by emergency responders is very difficult, if not almost impossible right now. CFD responded late Saturday evening to an outdoor smoke investigation in the area of County Route 6 and Hogtrough Road. Units operating on scene traced the smoke back to a large controlled burn on a neighboring property. Responding for Clermont was Car 1, Car 2, Car 3, Engine 60-12, Engine 60-13, and Tanker 60-35. #CFD #Clermont #FireLife

CFD responded late Saturday afternoon to a report of heavy black smoke in the area of Commons Rd. Clermont Car 2 and Car 3 were on scene within two minutes of dispatch, finding 2 vehicles fully involved. Both vehicles were unoccupied at the time and the fires extinguished. Also responding for Clermont was Car 1, Rescue 60-10 and Tanker 60-35. #CFD #Clermont #FireLife

CFD responded Thursday afternoon to a reported dryer fire/fire in the wall. Responding units were updated in route, that the fire was possibly knocked down after an extinguisher had been used on site. Firefighters investigated and vented the structure while checking for any extension. Responding for Clermont was Car 2, Car 3, Rescue 60-10, Engine 60-13, Tanker 60-35, and Engine 60-12. #CFD #Clermont #FireLife

With all of the snow we have gotten please make your exhaust vents for your furnace, hot water heater, and any other appliances are clear. If they become blocked by snow they can cause deadly carbon monoxide to build up in your house. #CFDTIPS #Clermont #FireLife

Clermont 60-35 and crew, testing the GPM output (Gallons Per Minute) of a new hydrant system installed on a large sprawling property within our fire district.
