We know how important it is to get the care you need and to feel safe when coming to our practice. We have never been so grateful to have a spacious office building with the capacity to keep everyone safely distanced. COVID-19 is likely to be in our community for many months. Since safety is our highest priority CMDRC has restructured our approach to care by limiting the number of patients in our building and providing fewer opportunities to be in contact with potentially c...ontaminating items such as clipboards, pens and other forms. To ensure the safety of our patients and staff, we are following the strict guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the NYSDOH. The Center for Menstrual Disorders has also created additional safety measures. Below are some of the new protocols and changes you will experience: You will be asked to fill out all forms required for your visit and submit them online prior to your visit on your home computer or on a mobile device in our waiting area. The forms will be available online beginning Friday, May 22, 2020 and transmitted directly to our office so you don’t have to print them. You will be asked to put on a mask or face covering before entering our office. All patients for routine care will be encouraged to arrive without visitors. If you require a support person for a surgical visit, your support person may be asked to wait in the car until a staff member calls to meet him or her at the door and escort them directly to a hand wash station and then directly into the recovery room. You will be screened for symptoms while checking in for your appointment and escorted to a sink for a 20-second hand wash with antimicrobial soap before your visit. The same protocol will apply to your support person. Staff members will be wearing masks, shields (if needed), and gloves as appropriate to your visit and your circumstances. Meticulous infection control practices, including constant disinfection of all surfaces and hand washing. If there is anything we can do to make you more comfortable during your visit, please don’t hesitate to ask! In the meantime, please know that we wish you, your family and your loved ones the very best during this historic pandemic.

How different this year is! Last year, on Easter weekend my family and I were walking around NYC and I remember the crowds at Broadway and the beautiful warm and sunny days we enjoyed in 2019. Yet here we are a year later and much has changed. This past Wednesday night our family celebrated Passover. Jewish friends speak of the irony of recalling a time when the Israelites quarantined themselves in their Egyptian dwellings hoping that the final and lethal plague woul...d pass them over. And yet here we are, nearly 3500 years later quarantined and praying that the corona-plague passes us over as well. Our current scourge will eventually pass, and I pray that in its wake it does not harm you and the ones you love. Each of usreligious or otherwisehas experienced a re-balancing of their lives. The meaning of family, friends and work has all shifted. Perhaps this crisis has reinforced your notion of what matters most to youor maybe you have established new priorities. The snow fall of April 10, 2020 will pass. The sun will once again shine on us and this current plague will pass but remain inscribed in our memory. Many of us talk of returning to a new normal. And I hope we find one--soon. I hope that the new normal includes greater appreciation of those whose hugs we’ve missed. I hope the new normal emphasizes the importance of hard-working people whose essential labor we likely took for granted. And I hope the new normal is one in which we give thanks for waking up each day ready to face new challenges. Have a wonderful weekend. To my Christian friends and family, I wish you a heartfelt Happy Easter. For my Jewish friends and family, have Happy Passover. Thank you, Rebecca, without whom I’d be lost. And thank you to Amy, Karen, Marcia, Christina, Martha, Nikki, Kathryn, Nick, and all our friends at Mobile Anesthesiologists of Western New York. Finally, I want to thank our patients for putting their trust in us. Moe Wortman

During these unprecedented times, your health is our first priority. We know you may have questions and we want you to know that we are taking the following actions to ensure your safety: 1. We will not abandon our patients. We will continue to serve your needs for as long as it is safe to do so. We prefer to see you rather than send you to urgent care. 2. Our facility is always highly sterile and clean, however, we are taking extra precautions during this time and adherin...g strictly to all guidelines and recommendations issued by the CDC. 3. We are screening all patients for risk of COVID-19 and will reschedule any patients who fall into any risk category. 4. We are offering telemedicine when possible. 5. Our waiting area is restricted to one patient. You are welcome to wait in your car. In the meantime, don't forget to wash your hands for 20 seconds at a time or use hand sanitizer when you don't have access to hand wash, cough into your elbow, don't touch your face, practice social distancing, check on your elderly neighbors, call your friends and family to check in, don't hoard toilette paper, and be kind. Take a break from watching the 24/7 coverage because that only increases anxiety! To all of the patients who have been impacted financially, please don't avoid us because you can't pay your copayment. We are here for you no matter what. On behalf of the entire staff at CMDRC, we cherish our patients and we thank you for trusting us with your care! Dr. Moe

We understand there are health care issues women face that require immediate attention therefore we remain committed and available to you. The office remains open to our patients during regular business hours. We will continue to stagger appointments to allow for more than the recommended 6 feet of physical social distancing . You are welcome to wait in your car rather than our waiting room. The same rule applies - if you have cold or flu-like symptoms please stay home. Don't hesitate to call should you have any questions or concerns!
