Quarantine wood shop project with my boys. They got to design and build their own skateboards. I did the cutting and tried my best to let them do the rest... sanding, painting, grip tape, stickers, even a bit of screwing on the trucks. Took awhile, but well worth it. I’m real proud of them for sticking with it. Not always easy to be patient when you’re 4 and a half.

Been wanting to do a chalkboard/cork board combo for our house for a while. Finally had a little time... a small positive to all this craziness. I don’t use this platform for personal stuff, but this was a proud dad carpenter moment, so I figured why not. Santa brought my boys their first real tools. I pre cut what they needed to make picture frames, and let them have at it. They measured, glued, nailed, and painted... with just a bit of daddy’s help. We went together to get glass, and they got to pick and print pictures to display. I love being their dad... so much. I get so busy and they’re always asking to work with me and learn. Clients had several water shut off valves that they needed access to in the entryway of their newly raised home. Challenge was to think of something that looked good, was functional, hid the valves, but kept access easy. I came up with this shiplap mudroom style piece and put it on wheels. Looks completely built in but is ready to move when necessary.
