PEOPLE 65+: NYS has recently directed that CCDOH will again be provided vaccine for people 65+. Additionally, The Federal government/NYS have directed that pharmacies will be the primary provider of the COVID vaccine for 65+ people. 65+ people are encouraged to also check with their local pharmacy to determine when they will have vaccine appointments available. For pharmacies providing the vaccine in the Capital Region area go to: https://capitalregionalrx.com/vaccination/. S...pecific pharmacies will have their own way to register or make an appointment to get the vaccine. This is not done through CCDOH. 65+ people (or ANY eligible county resident who is home-bound) who can not travel to a pharmacy or POD, or has no access or someone who can assist them with accessing the internet, may call the Columbia County COVID-19 Vaccine Information Line: 518-697-5560, Monday Friday 9am-4pm. Your information will be taken for possible future mobile POD operations. If you are contacted by a pharmacy or can otherwise obtain the vaccine, you should DO IT. Please don’t feel you have to wait to be contacted by Columbia County, since this may not happen if pharmacies are required to have a plan for visiting homes. See more

The Columbia County Department of Health has announced the date for its next COVID-19 drive-through clinic. Pre-registration is required at the link below: January 5, 2021 9 a.m. 11 a.m. Firefighter Training Center, 50 Grandinetti Drive, Commerce Park, Ghent. Registration link: https://forms.gle/TBzLU7tkcRUqkEvu5 You can also register the drive through clinic at the CCDOH website at www.columbiacountynyhealth.com. A list of additional testing providers and locations in o...ur area can also be found at this website. Please see the following rules and details for all of the clinic above: You must be a resident of Columbia County to register for testing. Please be sure to bring a form of photo identification. Masks are REQUIRED for entry. These tests will be nasopharyngeal swabs which are most useful to detect the virus in actively sick people. These are not antibody tests. The kits used at these testing sites are part of those purchased with the help of private donations to Columbia County. Symptoms most typical of cases of COVID-19 include the following: -Fever -Cough -Trouble Breathing -Loss of Taste or Smell -and/or any symptoms consistent with the CDC guidelines We strongly recommend anyone feeling these symptoms be tested for COVID-19. After leaving the test site, symptomatic residents should go directly home for mandatory quarantine until results are shared with them. Essential workers should plan on quarantining outside of work and being extremely cautious around those they come into contact with. Due to increased demand for testing, appointments for testing may be prioritized based on need. It may take up to five days to receive the test results. Everyone who is tested at the site will receive their results once they are processed.
