Happy Valentine’s Day from all your Valentines here at Columbia PT!

Columbia Physical Therapy 20.03.2021

We are humbled to be nominated for the Times Unions Best of 2021. To say the past year has been crazy is an understatement, but the continued positivity and strength our patients show us makes our jobs rewarding every day. We have been serving the Capital Region since 1987 and continue to treat many patients that started with us that far back. Our team is top notch and we feel blessed to have gained the trust of so many patients over the years. There is no specific physi...cal therapy category so our nomination lands under a spa category which is strange but I don’t care where they list us.... just being considered is a huge honor. If you are one of our fans please follow this link to also nominate us ... only the businesses with the most nominations between now and Feb 5th move on to the actual voting which takes place late Feb. Thanks so much! https://embed-760155.secondstreetapp.com//galle/269529764/

The best part of our job is meeting and helping our wonderful patients. The worst part is when they graduate and leave us. Reviews like this make us smile

A few people have asked if we’re still working. Yes we are. This week a patient sent us some beautiful flowers and an even more beautiful message. This is why we’re still working. Are we saving lives? Debatable. But, as always, we are most definitely improving lives. We have patients who can’t sleep, but get a night or two of easier rest after seeing us. We have patients with brand new knees and hips who need to be stretched or their joints will be just as bad as before surge...ry. We’re helping people with ACL repairs get rid of their swelling and regain the strength they need to do their daily activities and eventually return to the recreational activities that make them happy. We are helping people to become more whole and to have less pain. And we are doing it in the safest way possible-we are wearing masks, we’re keeping people away from each other, cleaning everything anyone touches, and washing our hands constantly. I have had several people say to me, You’d better not close, I need you. We are essential to our patients. And as long as they need us, we will be there. See more

I am so very proud of the Columbia Physical Therapy team for continuing to offer services for the community who needs immediate physical therapy. The federal De...partment of Homeland Security and NYS have deemed physical therapy offices to be essential services. We can help keep people with musculoskeletal or neurological or dizziness/vertigo disorders from needing to go to emergency departments or hospitals. We can help avoid falls, build strength and increase mobility and reduce pain. The patients who recently had joint replacements or other surgeries who require aggressive intervention to be sure the surgery was successful need their PT intervention. All CDC precautions are adhered to. If you have a temperature or a cough/sneezing or at high risk because of other diagnoses then of course you should be staying at home. Call to cancel if you feel ill - there are no cancellation fees but we need to know who cannot keep their already scheduled appointment. We have to keep patients apart. Also, Workers comp patients and Medicare patients we are learning that we can offer telephone consultations. Telehealth for many other patients will also be an option. Bob and I are grateful to the many loyal community members who trust us to be their PT provider. Gina Mastrianni Roemer is a true leader and each of the physical therapists and assistants and front desk staff are ready to help during this unprecedented crisis. Lets wash our hands, stop touching our face, walk and exercise and keep smiling! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Stay tuned. Doreen and Bob See more

To all of our faithful patients... your health is our first priority. We will be open tomorrow to treat you and have taken all precautions to do so as safely as possible. We do ask you to call if you will not make your appointment and of course stay home if you are sick. We will update you on any changes that evolve as the week progresses.
