Whether your tooth is decayed, eroded, chipped, or cracked, a dental crown can restore strength and beauty, while protecting the tooth from further damage. Dental crowns can restore the strength and beauty of heavily damaged teeth. They can also support bridges, which are used to replace a missing tooth. Claudette Colvin was only 15 years old when she took a stand against segregation in 1955 (before Rosa Parks) by refusing to give up her seat on a bus. Her case later contributed to the end of segregation on public transportation in Alabama. Thank you for your courage and contribution to Black History Month, Claudette!https://1l.ink/S5PRQB3

To avoid TMJ flare-ups from happening, we recommend avoiding these candies. However, there are TMJ-friendly alternatives, such as chocolates, baked goods, apple cider, and hot cocoa. If you suffer from headaches and other TMJ symptoms every time you want to enjoy Halloween candy or other treats, it’s essential to seek out TMJ treatment. WITH HALLOWEEN COMES a lot of sugary treats. In hopes of sparing our patients from any post-Halloween cavities, we want to go over some of the treats that are worst for our teeth and the ones that are actually not so bad. Hard, sour, and sticky candies are in the bad category. It takes time for hard candy to dissolve, which means an extended sugar bath for the teeth. Sticky candy adheres to the teeth, which brings all that sugar directly to the harmful bacteria. Sour cand...y is acidic as well as sugary, making it doubly harmful. So what’s the good news? Chocolate! It contains compounds that limit oral bacteria, slow tooth decay, and fight bad breath. However, the more sugar there is in it, the more it cancels out the good effects, which is why dentists prefer dark chocolate. Finally, the best candy for teeth is candy sweetened with xylitol instead of sugar. There aren’t many xylitol candy options besides sugar-free gum in most candy bowls, but xylitol goes beyond depriving bacteria of food; it actually hurts it. Xylitol treats are definitely good ones to aim for. #healthysmile #halloween #halloweentreats

Does the color of your gums make you unhappy? Gums might appear dark if they are unhealthy, but sometimes healthy gums are affected by hyperpigmentation. This might make them darker in appearance than you’d like. Fortunately, both these causes of dark gums can be treated. We can treat gum disease to return your gums to a healthy color, but if healthy gums are dark, we offer gum bleaching. This procedure doesn’t actually bleach the gumsit removes pigmentation with a minimally invasive procedure. It’s quick and convenienttaking just one appointment. And it’s almost painless with quick recovery time. Learn more about gum bleaching at https://www.dentistrywithaheart.com/gum-bleaching/.

Dental bonding is a simple, inexpensive procedure that allows a cosmetic dentist to reshape one or more teeth. It can be used for many cosmetic procedures, including repairing minor chips in teeth, closing gaps between teeth, and building up teeth that are smaller than you would like. It is so easy and inexpensive, that sometimes people use it to help decide whether they should invest in a more expensive procedure such as dental implants. Learn more about dental bonding at https://www.dentistrywithaheart.com/dental-bonding/.
