Position: Optical Finishing Lab Technician /Manager Full time: 40 hours per week Titus Ave. location. Requirements: +3-5 years working in an optical laboratory environment (finishing preferred).... Salary: Consummate to work experience. Job Description: Duties of the Finishing Laboratory Technician include: - Ability to work independently and prioritize work flow Excellence in Quality minded. - Coordinate interoffice lab orders from the daily pickup & delivery procedures. - Create a patient job tray with name and date maintain proper organization. - Place stock and surface lens orders through our existing distributors & laboratories using Fax, Phone or Website (as required). - Receive and document lens orders. - Verify the power of the lens for prescription accuracy and size before blocking. - Block, edge and mount lenses into frames all styles/designs. - Experience with Digital Trace System preferred not required. - Inspect lenses for quality and accuracy using a lensometer utilizing ANSI Standards. - Eyewear and Lenses should be cleaned and bench aligned using optical hand tools as required. - Wrap finished eye wear in protective wrap with copy of lab order and sent to the appropriate Office each day. - Work closely with the dispensing opticians and lens laboratories. - Familiarity with Chemistrie Clip edging & assembly is a plus. - Solid understanding of Optical/Lens Theory. - Proper cleaning and maintenance of all Lab Equipment. Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and well organized area. Oversee Stock Lens levels and maintain. Inventory Lens Count performed Quarterly.

A fun fact about Julie, for a few years she worked in various theatres across the country, even alongside some Broadway and Tony winning artists! Julie loves to come into work to assist patients in making sure they are happy with the way the way they look and how they can see with their new glasses!
