We arrived at Corning Bike Works this morning to find we had no showroom lights! A call to our landlord, Shane Donahue, prompted his call to Kevin Pilon, Sparky, who arrived and had lights on within 45 minutes. Thank you for your prompt, efficient help!

Email from a customer: Subject: Some good news :-) Hi,... I just wanted to share some good news since there’s enough bad floating around right now. Back in December we bought a bike from you for my son's 4th birthday. It didn’t get too much use this summer, but we went out a few times on the street together. Just yesterday he decided he didn’t want training wheels anymore. In only his second attempt to ride without training wheels he was up and going. After 20 minutes he was starting by himself and turning around at the end of the street. He’s now telling me that he’s ready to go ride with those guys in Paris on the tour...haha! Thanks for your help getting him started and I hope you’re all staying safe!

Corning Bike Works will be closed from September 12th to September 21st, reopening September 22nd. Covid-19 has severely broken our supply chain. We are very low on bikes, parts, and accessories. If you have a bike on backorder scheduled for the end of the month it should be no problem. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our loyal customers who have stuck with us through all of this. Thank you!

I wanted to share an update on the temporary closure of Market Street: I spoke with an officer on the Corning Police Department bike patrol. The street closure is considered an "event ". Since bikes are considered vehicular traffic, and cars are not allowed, neither are bikes. Walking the bike is ok. If a faster trip is necessary you can always scoot down the alleys. The concern is the safety of pedestrians and the outside diners.

It was a beautiful day for a ride on the Keuka Outlet Trail. And, of course, the promise of ice cream at the finish was icing on the cake. The water was running so hard and fast I thought maybe someone had pulled the plug on Keuka Lake!

Corning Bike Works will be closed May 26 - 29 due to a death in the family.
