December 17, 2020 COVID-19 Update: Just about all of our scheduled staff were able to make it into work this morning, which is amazing considering some had over 18 inches or more in their driveway. This staff is so determined.... We have 9 more residents who have RECOVERED today. They are all recovering on our B Unit at this time to build up that cohort. 1 staff member did test positive today, so far, and we sent her home to recover. We continue to mourn our residents who have passed from this virus. All of our hearts hurt right now as this has shaken every staff member to our core. This is so hard to take. Please keep those families in your prayers. Thank you all for your support.

December 16, 2020 COVID-19 Update: Some good news to share today. We have our first 5 RECOVERED residents now cohorting on our B unit. We will continue to test residents when they have hit the 14 day point and if they are not symptomatic. ... No residents or staff have tested positive as of 1pm today. We continue to test staff weekly, or if they have any concerning symptoms. To our residents who have passed from this virus: Thank you for sharing your lives with us and allowing us to be part of your family. Your grace, humor, and wisdom affected our lives here at Crouse Community Center more than you will know. Rest in peace. To the families who had loved ones pass: Please know we are heartbroken and mourn with you. Each of our residents are family to us. We also thank you for giving us the privilege of having them with us here are Crouse Community Center. We are honored to have had the pleasure of being part of your lives as well.

December 15, 2020 COVID-19 Update: Testing reviewed 4 more positive residents that started to show symptoms of COVID-19.... So far today NONE of our night and day shift employees have tested positive! On behalf of the staff........Thank all of those "Angels" who have sent us fruit, sweet treats, pizza, appetizers, desserts, snacks, veggie platters, and other goodies in the last 2 day..... WOW... JUST WOW. It is just overwhelming to feel supported, it really does lift our spirits more than you will ever know. This is by far the worse thing any of us has ever had to witness and been part of in our careers, but those who are left fighting this battle haven't given up. To our recovering staff: You are our Calvary! We are holding the line until you make it back to help!

COVID-19 UPDATE: December 14, 2020 Since this outbreak started with our residents on December 1, 2020, our staff have been in Full PPE for all shifts and departments. That includes N95 masks, goggles, face shields and gowns. We have spared no expense and have maintained over a 90 supply. This also includes rapid tests that we ordered immediately before our distributor even had them in stock. ... We have followed all directives in from DOH to move residents to better cohort positive, negative, and exposed negatives. We have completed over 75 moves in the last week easily, which has been disruptive to the residents to say the least. Since my last update yesterday, we have tested all the negative residents once again and found 9 were positive from rapid testing. 6 more staff have also tested positive with our weekly testing that is in place. We will continue to report our numbers to continue to be transparent. We are truly in a battle and we continue to fight because there is no giving up. Thank you to all that shared our post, as we have gotten 3 emails inquiring about working. So far one of our former CNAs has answered the call to start tomorrow night. An ER nurse from St. Joe's might be able to help us next week, and another RN from Oneida inquired about what shifts are needed. This will be the toughest week for us until we get 25 staff members back Saturday and Sunday. Thank you again for all your support.
