John Katko held a press conference today. Here are some of the highlights with commentary: --- Reporter: Do you think he's still fit to lead?... John Katko: That's a very good question...If his rhetoric continues I'd be very very concerned...He incited this violence that's completely unacceptable and to me, going forward, if that continues, I'd be even more concerned. My commentary: This is cowardice. John Katko is remarkably consistent in his political cowardice. Even an armed insurrection isn't enough to spur him to action. --- When asked about if he regrets his support of Trump, JohnKatko: I think what this whole incident has taught us is that conduct matters and words and rhetoric matter. And, clearly, if I knew back then what I saw yesterday, I clearly wouldn't have supported him. My commentary: We ALL knew back then. Yesterday's events were entirely predictable. In fact, predicted. John Katko, if you didn't know, you're too ignorant to hold office. If you knew and supported him anyway, you're unfit to hold office. --- John Katko said that the question of the 25th amendment or impeachment is moot because it would take too long. This is not true. Either or both of these can be done and done quickly.
