Happiest Birthday to Suzi (one day early -- she gets the whole weekend right?)! And, as is her nature, in honor of her birthday, she'd like to share something with you that has sustained her and brought her great joy through this difficult year-- can you guess from the pictures? Suzi is a #knitter and she is wearing her gorgeous creations! Check out the linked The New York Times article about the healing power of knitting. And make sure to wish Suzi a "Happy Birthday" in the comments #knitting #CopingwithCovid #handmadeclothing https://www.nytimes.com//pandemic-knitting-election-stress

A tree grows in Manhattan. Our art therapist, Kelley Linhardt, joined Suzanne Kennedy, the Director of the Office of the Chairman and Head of Philanthropic Giving for IAC and a Ways of Seeing Practitioner to build a human-sized tree with PS11 students, who are primarily children of NYC essential workers, at the IAC building in Chelsea on Friday. The tree will get painted and come to life with leaves, flowers, fruit and animals this week- more pics to come. But until then neither Suzanne nor Kelley could resist hitting a tree pose next to their masterpiece. #treepose #arttherapy #ps11

Our next installment of the #selfcarechallenge is a reminder that after a long week- a dance break with an enthusiastic partner is the perfect way to welcome in the weekend. Our dance therapist, Jenn and her daughter Olive are dancing queens cutting a rug together in Brooklyn. Hope your self-care plan for the weekend includes a tango, a waltz or a simple boogie. #selfcare #dancemovementtherapy #copingwithcovid #danceistherapy
