Remember these two lovely ladies? Emily & Kristen were the first couple to ever hike to the top of a mountain with me for an adventure session. It was freezing, it was 5am, and it was magical. So naturally for their engagement session, it was only fitting we woke up again at the ass crack of dawn, and went to location that was just as magical! Peep the canoe they are in, it was Emily's late fathers, and I love that we got to incorporate it into their images and make it extra ...special for them. If you are thinking about a wild or crazy idea for your session, a super meaningful location or just a fun date, lemme hear it! Let's make it happen! PS. What you also don't see is that I was NOT wearing the proper boots, but jumped into the cold water anyways, to get that sunrise light! Maybe this is why I keep extra clothes in my car?
A snowy Sunday morning spent up north with two of the best people celebrating their engagement is alright in my book! Congratulations Mandy & Joe, I can PUMPED for your wedding this year! Let's do this thing!
Have I ever told you the story of how I got started in my business? I took an photography class in high school, and fell in love with being in the darkroom. When I tell you I would spend hours in there, I would skip my lunch period just to develop more images. My former CSHS art teachers can attest to this! I decided I was going to go to college and become a teacher as well, majoring in photography. BUT that didn't happen when I graduated. Flash forward my senior year, I w...as asked to photograph a wedding, which I did with a borrowed camera and some high hopes. Turns out, the images weren't that bad, and I got asked to do a few more! 10 years later, this journey has brought me seasons on happiness, of self doubt, and most of all growth. If you have a dream to do something with your life, don't let fear hold you back. Make a plan, make the moves and put in the work to make it happen!
That 5 year glow up is real tho
Hannah and Josh are on the blog this morning! It started to snow here in the Finger Lakes, just a little bit, and it reminded me of this beautiful day spent with these two love birds. Take a peek into how Josh and I pulled off the perfect winter proposal on Seneca Lake to Hannah <3 https://www.danitphotography.com//belhurst-castle-winter-p
2020 has certainly had its limitations, and I think most of us are at our breaking points. I took 2020 as a time to learn, grow and really push my business to its limit in regards to traveling all over NYS and truly having some of the best couples I could have ever in a million years asked for. So, regardless of how the world is handling things, personally, 2020 has been a hard and wonderful year. It was full of challenges, hardships, many happy moments, and really stepping back to see what was missing and what is truly important to me. In world that has been so negative, let's talk about something positive that has come out of 2020 for you!
It's the Holiday season in the Finger Lakes, which means cloudy days, and lots of unpredictable weather! I woke up this morning to super wet, slushy snow..headed out thinking I would need to make Plan B happen when Josh proposed to Hannah. BUT little did I know, we would end up in Hallmark movie along Seneca Lake. Congratulations to Josh and Hannah on your engagement! I am so so over the moon happy for you both!
If you are waiting on an email from me, please check your spam folder. I am having a terrible time with google these last few weeks, and after thinking I had the problem fixed, I was wrong. SO, thank you all for your patience while I try to get resolved, so we can get back to scheduling your sessions!! In the meantime, here is a little Holiday Cheer to share of these two cuties!
Looks like everyone adores announcements, behind the scenes reels, personal posts and mountain tops...basically all the things I adore too! I'm working hard on wrapping up the last of the sessions from 2020, and sharing all this beauty with you (thank you all so much for your patience). 2020 was a hard year for many. Personally, for me, this year I really blossomed both personally and in business. I traveled all over NYS to some of the most incredible locations, met some of... the most wonderful people, and photographed memories that were unforgettable. It was many long days, lots of miles on my car, and sleepless nights...but it was 1000% worth it. Here is to 2021, the challenges, the beauty, and the adventures that await us. I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year!
If you wanna see a little behind the scenes of how it all went down this morning! Thank you to Jennifer for being my insta wife today and filming some goodies!
I can't believe this sassy pants is ONE already! Happy birthday sweet Josie!
Dylan may have looked at me like I had 5 heads when I said "go climb that wood pile with Amira". But here we are, on top of a log pile, looking like the hit cover of a county single
Jackie had told me from our first phone call, all she had ever dreamed of was dancing to her wedding song on a mountain top. Well no worries here! I've had your back since day one of making that dream come true!
