As we enter our 6th year here in Ridgewood & 8th year dating back to our days in the back of The Silent Barn just want to say thx to everyone who has supported us along the way. We are continuously humbled by all of your support especially during this past year when things were looking pretty dark for everyone there for more than a min. But happy to report thx to all your help our Dec 2020 some how out grossed our Dec 2019!!!! None of it would be possible without you & w...e eternaly greatful and honored to be able to live & work in this community. Thx for supporting this (and other) small POC owned businesses. It's rough out there but you all make it a little easier. Everything is 10% off this weekend. Come pick up all the stuff you wish someone would have gotten you as gifts for the holidays. Just wanted to say thanks for continuing to support our POC (1st gen native born US citizen) owner-operated little independent community record store. Honored and humbled by all your support. And have loved being able to live, work and be a part of the Ridgewood community for all these years. The lock down months were pretty tough to keep this ship afloat but in Oct., after going back to being open 7 days a week, you all have come back out and our numbers have bounced back to... pre pandemic levels!! Please keep it up! Don't let no one tell you NYC is dead! I know we still have a long way to go and a tough road to get there but thanks for supporting us along the way. We are going to take a much needed day off and take tomorrow (Halloween) off to spend some time with our families. But don't worry we have a special treat to thank you all. New sign. . . who dis? We been in this space over 5&1/2 years but just got around to having the awning painted. Thx to everyone that was able to find our signless ass over all these years. Now that we got a sign I guess we officially official. So come on down! After over 5 & a half years of being open here on Catalpa & Seneca we realized that we are going to probably be here a while and it might be a good idea to finally paint our awning. Thanks to all of your support we are happy to announce that we are going to go back to being open 7 days a week! Thanks to everyone that has continued to support us during these last crazy 6 months as well as the last crazy 7 and half years. Thanks to everyone that has ever come to the shop. Thanks to everyone that hit us up to have a record delivered or shipped during lock down. Thanks to everyone that ordered a record online. Thanks to everyone that got a haircut (when we used to do that back in the Silent Barn days). And big thanks to everyone that has come back to the shop since we have opened back up since covid lockdown. Some good friends and some good people are working on this emergency relief fund to save NYC's nightlife spaces with a focus on Black, POC and LGBTQIA spaces. (And if you have the means and feel like giving may we humbly suggest pledging to get Ebru Yildiz's Closed Doors, Open Hearts" NNU Zine as she chose to feature us in it. ha)

We back & we open for browsing. We still doing pick up and delivery for those not ready to come back in side the shop just yet. But for those inching for digging we covid pimped up the shop the way you wished Xzibit would do your ride. Our listening station is now a hand sanitizing station. John's (and later Adrian's) old plexiglass cabbie Halloween costume is now our register shield. We got this fancy ass germinator filter thing running on full steam. And MF Doom greets all ...potential customers at the door letting them know masks must be worn at all times and there is a limit of 2 customers in the shop at any time. Shit my ass even mopped the place for the 1st time in well . . . .ever but I'll keep it up and will be wiping everything on the regular with alcohol and bleach wipes. Thanks to everyone that has supported us to get us this far, from the garage in back of the silent barn 7+ years ago, to the last 5+ years here in Ridgewood, to the last few months in lock down and hopefully further into this uncertain future. Some how (thx to all your support) we managed to break even in April w/o opening our doors just by selling on discogs, instagram and doing local delivery. Thanks to everyone that has continued to support us while in lock down. It has been a blow to our pocket books to not be making any profit but at least we aren't losing money and we will try to keep this going as long as we can. That said this coming month gonna be a little tougher as we moved a lot of our more exciting and bigger ticket items this month. I'm in the shop in my OG M.O.P. bandana listing things online. If you happen to be walking by on the way to hoard some TP stop in. We don't need another hero - so we are going to a modified schedule untill at least the end of the month. I'll be coming in to the shop for a few hours a day here and there to list stuff on discogs & ebay and work on other projects around the shop. Currently taking things day by day here. We are open today, limiting the shop to 4 customers at a time and we are wiping everything down regularly with Clorox wipes and have them available for customers at the counter as well.
