Sheriff Craig DuMond encourages Delaware County residents to welcome the New Year by exercising good judgement in regards to their health and safety by followin...g these tips: Don’t drink and drive EVER. Monitor your alcohol intake. Do not serve alcohol to minors. Follow all local, state and CDC COVID-19 guidelines. If possible, avoid driving between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. on New Year’s Eve. When walking, use main roads and wear bright visible clothing. New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are amongst the most deadly days for pedestrians. Keep your phone charged so you are prepared in the event of an emergency. Be careful what you share on social media on New Year’s Eve.
