‘the Harvest’ has been carrying Byebrook Farm Gouda since we began in the summer of 2017. The Deysenroth’s are an amazing seventh generation Catskills family dairy in Bloomville who own and operate Byebrook Farm. The Deysenroth’s make a beautiful raw milk Gouda cheese and age it at least 60 days. Varieties include: plain, cumin seed, caraway, dill, and cider-washed rind. They also operate a wonderful self-service roadside farm stand at their farm which also sell the cheese, along with fresh bottled raw milk from their cows and local products from our Catskills neighbors. As our Receiving & Stock Assistant, your main duties will be:... RECEIVING: Creating purchase orders Checking in items as they are received with delivery drivers. Receiving all orders from wholesalers and farmers and inputting inventory in to our system using Square. Categorizing items for online shopping in our online store. Creating and placing barcode labels, ensuring all items are received and tagged properly Work with other team members to create efficient systems in stocking coolers, freezers, and in the store. STOCK: Ensuring new products are put on the floor and communicating to other team members where back stock is located. Ensuring a first in first out process and that all items are visible. Checking inventory for sell by dates and freshness, and that all items are marked. OTHER DUTIES: Food production. Assisting customers. Handling meat & poultry. Dishwashing and cleaning. MUST BE: Extremely organized and have extraordinary attention to detail. Patient and a fast learner. Able to assist in a retail environment while on the floor - be friendly, accommodating, and passionate about our products. Passionate about our farmers, local products, wholesalers, delivery drivers and creating relationships with them -as a face of our receiving department you will be a main contact for them! Twin Ponds Farm is a wonderful farm owned by Babs Fischer; providing us with gorgeous eggs, 100% grass-fed beef, chicken, as well as alpaca dryer balls and cat nip toys. Since Mom and I sold Mediterranean Delights (a nationally distributed health food company) in 2009 my heart & LIFE has been OBSESSED with the state of our food system (I'm from New Hampshire - married to a local (Marine) from New Kingston). Since 2009 I have dedicated EVERYTHING I have (heart & soul) to federal & state food safety to aid entrepreneurs navigating food safety/compliance regulatory requirements in order to expand small business (on a local/national/federal level), promote good agricultural practices AND aid in local resilience. Instea...d of walk-ups, we will only being taking drive through orders. The parking lot adjacent from Catskill Regional will be set up for service. You will order via your car at our service window. PLEASE stay in your car and do not walk up to the window. Cash and credit card will be accepted as payment. We have extended our first day hours (May 14th from 12-8pm) in hopes of encouraging you to spread out your visitation plans. We expect to be busiest during dinner service hours, so if you are able and willing, we ask that you stop by during earlier hours of service. We can even package you a take-home taco kit for dinner if you aren’t in the mood for lunch tacos. Please help us maintain social distancing so we are able to continue to serve you!
