The crew at DeMonte Motorsports have lost a great friend. "He was one of those dedicated people that are the true backbone of our great sport and sadly this morning after a long & brave fight against cancer Bob Demling has taken his final checkered flag. A former two time NASCAR National Mechanic of the Year Bob worked alongside some Long Island racing giants, Bob & Steve Park, Fred Harbach and Chuck Steuer enjoying sucesses with all of them. However it was his current drive...r that brought Bob the most joy and satisfaction to work with, his Godson Dillon Steuer. Demling was a huge part of the career path that Dillon is currently on, together winning the Islip 300 in May at Riverhead Raceway and enjoying success both asphalt & dirt. Bob was so much more than a racing crew chief or mentor to Dillon or his sister Larissa he was part of the Steuer family. For over four years Bob fought the good fight against this dreaded disease and while we are all sad to hear of his passing we were blessed to have known Bob Demling, a tireless worker who would give you the shirt off his back if you asked. Rest in peace Bob, we will all miss you dearly. To Bob's family we pray for you today and thank you for sharing him with our racing family.
