Ruritan Christmas Outreach Ruritan, in cooperation with the Big M Market, has been conducting a Christmas outreach program for a number of years. Big M gift car...ds are distributed to families in need during the holiday season. Families are identified by the DCS medical staff. The intent is that by using these gift cards for groceries, these families can repurpose their limited funds for other holiday needs. Last year, due to our limited budget and an increase in the number of families we hoped to assist, we made a last minute appeal to the community for help and received over $800 to add to our $500 budget, providing $65 gift cards to 22 families. In this year of widespread uncertainty and hardship, we expect the need to be greater and hope this wider appeal will allow us to provide greater assistamce to those families in our community who are in need during the holiday season. In addition to our $500 budget, we will match donations up to $1000. Donations can be sent to Ruritan, in care of Tim Marr, 2057 Smith Rd., DeRuyter 13052. Ruritan is a 501(c)3 organization, and donations are tax deductable. See more
