Masala Popcorn Chef Priavanda shares her favorite at home snack recipe. Healthier alternative to the potato chips. . Ingredients: -1/3 cup of Olive Oil... -3/4 cup of popcorn kernals -2 tsp of salt -1 tsp of tumeric -1 tsp of Degi Mirch (Chilli powder) Instructions: -Heat large sauce pan with 3-4 kernels pieces and put the lid on slightly ajar so the steam can come out -Wait for the 3-4 pieces kernels to pop. This way you know the oil is hot -Close the heat and add rest of pop corn kernels and spice. Give it a quick stir to ensure all spices coat the kernels. -Turn heat back on to high heat and put lid back on slightly ajar so steam can come out -Let the kernels pop and turn off the heat when the popping sound slows down. -Wait until 2-3 mins to cool down before serving in case there a few kernels left to pop. My go to items: Olive oil: Brightland Spices: MDH spices Popcorn: Arrowhead Mills Let us know how it turns out for you

One of our partners Foodtoeat needs@our help! FoodtoEat has taken a tremendous hit with companies WFH policies. Their entire business at FoodtoEat is dependent on people working from their offices. With folks (rightly so) working from home, restaurants across the U.S. are seeing 50-90% declines in business, forcing many to shut their doors for good. They do great work--sourcing food from women, immigrant, and minority-run food vendors in the NYC metro area. All their vendors... are prepared with individually packaged meals, following the safety guidelines. They are asking for individuals to either place large orders for someone you know through us or for people to donate directly via GoFundMe. In return, they place orders with their restaurant partners and donate ALL FOOD to shelters and food banks in NYC - the institutions serving the most vulnerable folks during this unprecedented time. They are trying to help the food community - which touches every corner of our lives - survive these trying times. Including our Desi Galli. YOUR IMPACT Every donation/order directly impacts three separate constituencies: 1) underserved, vulnerable individuals 2) our restaurant partners 3) FoodToEat to provide service Your contribution will directly help them offset the declines they're seeing in their core business, while also nourishing the life of someone else in need. Happy Holi!!! What is Holi? An Indian festival that signifies the arrival of spring, the end of winter, the blossoming of love, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships. People also smear each other with colours and drench each other. The colorful powders also pay homage to the bright colors seen during the spring season. Of course Holi is also celebrated with special treats like chaat
