Since we're on an e-bike roll, pictured: 2019 Scott Axis 20 men's (size medium). $4000 What is this bizarre model? Well, I like to have all the answers, but I'm as bewildered as the next person. It's a 29er mountain bike, but with a kickstand, headlight, rack and fenders. Who needs this style bike? Someone confused. All jokes aside, the Scott Axis line is actually quite practical and extremely well built. It's a perfect commuter (back in the day when people commuted). It's also practical for knocking around town. The fenders will protect your clothing and the racks are there for convenience. Breeze to your destination thanks to the 500 watt battery be it the local coffee shop or, just outside your town, cannabis dispensary (couldn't put joke's aside).

E-bikes are all the hype. Sure, it's a bicycle, sort of. They're sold in bicycle shops, yet (confused) outside reps push them on motorcycle shops. We're all a bit confused. That goes for trail etiquette, shop owners, manufacturers. Truth is, this market is in its infancy. The following is what I've learned about this type of machine. People's first impression can vary, but typically they're all smiles when test riding a bicycle with a motor. It's astonishing the sensa...tion of instantaneous torque! Most people laugh, especially those who have never been on a true motorcycle. Others bite the dust because they thought the e-bike would allow them to, once again, ride at 108 years old. We're a dealer for quality brands. Cannondale, EVO, and Scott bicycles. What's not a reputable company? Do you know why I like this photo? Look closely and you'll notice that front and rear wheel reflectors are lined up and the crank is level and forward. You may be thinking "boy o boy. New Bicycles are trinkling in. Just received the Cannondale Treadwell 2 size Large. $800. Brushing aside traditional design, Cannondale began with a clean slate, wowing the industry with the Treadwell. This is not your typical comfort hybrid. That much is obvious from the flat-tracker handlebar. Lightweight, hip and practical, the Treadwell shines like a jewel in the pile of outdated nonsense you'll find elsewhere.

Want drives us, drives even a monk, stripped of everything except his robe, a blanket and bowl, still craves, wants enlightenment (New school have MacBook). As a teen from suburbia in the 80's I needed more than anything else Redline 401 flight cranks. Begging wasn't doing the trick. It was becoming apparent I'd have to earn my want. Nobody was handing $230 to a boy with a perfectly functioning bicycle despite the ghastly 1 piece anchor that held my 1/2" pedals in place. I... earned enough - eventually, taking me over a year, as my parents chuckled "character" and "respect". I wouldn't give them the satisfaction back then, but they were right to teach me a lesson. I took impeccable care of my bicycle and still own that very bike (and crank) today. I recently acquired a custom built 1984 Redline adorned with 401's! Haven't seen another (original) pair in 21 years in the business. The Down Cycles DH and BMX collection is growing. Soon I will display what I've accumulated. I can hardly wait to see the smiles and listen to the stories.

How I feel every ride.

You cannot ignore the incredible weather conditions. This has been a spectacular summer (at least here in the Northeast). I sincerely hope you are enjoying every waking moment outdoors. Shop update: Repairs are still a few weeks out. We have a fabulous new crew who are feverishly hard at work. I'm finally seeing production! Bikes are flying out the door, in tip top shape, happily back with owners. New bike availability is still a problem. We placed an order for 150 units due to arrive in September. I've been wandering the world by bicycle for years wondering pleasantly, where are all the people? The mountain bike in particular is the perfect tool for deep exploration. It's an extension of who you are, your personality. Cycling into the abyss, a place with no rules or regulations is fruit for the soul. Have you seen the Lottery commercial where the big winner purchases the interstate therefore eliminating traffic and breezing through tolls? In reality, this scenario ...would never play out. Seriously? Where are you going in your rectangular box weighing thousands of pounds that's at the mercy of a paved smooth surface? This is not the painting of freedom. What really brings joy to your world? I distinctly remember the sensations felt when I learned to pedal away from my driveway, unencumbered by training wheels, unaccompanied by an adult. I was set free. My bicycle silently, efficiency whisking me off to a higher plane to a new uplifting perspective on the world. The cycling industry and it's inability to keep up with consumer demand is an extension of the human condition. People are either reuniting with joy or experiencing it for the first time. The mad dash to buy a bicycle has no similarities to toilet paper shortage. Bicycle shortages are a phenomenon that will be studied for years to come. It's no coincidence that bikes are flying off shelves as our freedoms disappear at an alarming rate. Bustling paths and trail systems are a beautiful example of what being human stands for. We are out there spinning away globally, admiring all the world's beauty, our lives enhanced by the most effective machine ever designed. Humanity The Free.

I'm thankful. Thankful of each and every one of you . I'm fully charged when presented with challenges. The shop is being hammered with sales and service. Repairing bikes to our level of precision at this furious pace would crush most people's souls. We got this! Love you all.

Ride the fear away. Cycling releases dopamine and serotonin dubbed "happy drugs" into your system. Exercise strengthens the body, but cycling strengthens and floods you with positivity. I'm noticing people all around me caving in fear, becoming irrational, lashing out at one another... Get out and bike... Especially mountain bike. The toxicity will lift, anxiety will disappear. The birds are singing, flowers are blooming. My favourite time of the year. We're OPEN and smiling.
