While the White House 30 Day Stay At Home guidance remains our most powerful weapon against COVID-19, CDC’s recommendation to wear a cloth face covering may help protect the most vulnerable. Watch U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams make a face covering in a few easy steps.

Please wear a mask to help prevent the spread. Please wear a mask if you come to our office! Dr Cheng and Dr Lemanski are still seeing patients with vision threatening issues and for urgents visits. People can carry the virus and either not be effected by it at all or not feel the effects for weeks. In this stage of asymptomatic shedding you carry the virus can still pass it to others! The CDC recommends a mask when you leave the house. ANY mask is better than no mask!! Wear a mask to prevent the spread. Wear a mask to protect your loved ones. I do this for all of you. Please do this for eachother. #masks4all

We are still seeing urgent visits. We are offering telemedicine visits with the doctors. If you have a televisit scheduled, please have one of the following ready when the doctor starts your call 1. Glasses if you use them for anything... 2. A vision chart! Go to one of these websites and print a Vision chart: (used to check your vision) https://mabelchengmd.com//ChengLemanski_NearVision_16inche Or https://www.mdcalc.com/visual-acuity-testing-snellen-chart 2. Have a computer with the vision test properly proportioned on your screen

Selfie time! Brian is shown here testing an upgrade on the OCT machine. OCT stands for optical coherence tomography and it uses optical ultrasound to provide cross sectional views of the retina. This technology allows us to study the retina and make clinical decisions, like, whether or not a macular degeneration patient needs another injection? See the green images that come up on the screen? Those are cross sectional views of his macula! That’s the part of the retina used for fine vision. The little dip in the middle is called the fovea. Looks nice and healthy! (For the record Brian may be the only person who can do this imaging on himself, this is usually a two person effort.)

Did you do your warm lid compress today? It’s the easiest thing to do (or not do!). Do yourself a favor and use a warm compress on closed eyelids for 8-10 minutes. It will help open the meibomian glands! (If you have had eye surgery in the last 2 weeks, consult your doctor before doing this!)Did you do your warm lid compress today?
