Do you have "Covid Toes"? Read this article: 'COVID Toes': Lesions on Patients' Feet, Toes Linked to Coronavirus This is a manifestation that occurs early on in the disease, meaning you have this first, then you progress, he continued. Sometimes this might be your first clue that they have COVID when they don’t have any other symptoms.... According to USA Today, the symptom has mostly appeared in children and adults and younger adults who would otherwise generally be asymptomatic. Lautenbach said that the symptom goes away in some cases in less than two weeks. However, he added the symptom can signal the start of other problems for some patients. Experts are still working to understand what causes the symptom. One doctor, however, in Massachusetts, Susan Wilcox, told the paper that she has seen the purple lesions appear in some COVID-19 patients that are in critical condition. Wilcox told the paper that she thinks purpura fulminans could be the culprit. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, purpura fulminans is an acute purpuric rash characterized by coagulation of the microvasculature, which leads to purpuric lesions and skin necrosis. Wilcox has also reported seeing purpura fulminans appear in serious flu and pneumonia cases. You get the infection, and then your body will release a cascade of inflammation, she told the paper. In many ways, it’s beneficial, but then sometimes it can either be too much, so the inflammation can lead to its own damage.

As with everyone else, we are trying. It is not as perfect at home as it may seem in the photo. That pic was from a birthday celebration last year. I don't want to suggest we are somehow better at coping. The kids (and parents) do get grumpy from time to time and my wife says it's tough to keep everyone in a routine. The kids do sneak in video games when they claim they are doing their online homework. The bed-head is still a thing. Last night's dinner consisted of scrambled eggs with toast just because we couldn't be bothered. I want to hear what people are doing to get through this, to support each other, so that we can all stay connected and emotionally survive this...together.

Life is busy at home with 3 little ones to run after. They have been starting the day with a morning stretch and then some class work after breakfast: reading, doing spelling exercises, watching videos (somewhat educational ), making a volcano, learning about weather, patterns in math, and my wife tells me they will be learning about coding today. Gym class involves chasing each other with Nerf guns outside, playing badminton over the fence with their neighbor friends, bike ...riding, kicking a soccer ball around or hula hooping to music. I'll admit, in the beginning, the kids did a lot of sleeping in, living in PJ's, grazing on whatever's around and modeling some wicked bed-head most days. It wasn't a healthy way to be for an extended period, so we we decided to develop a good routine and get organized to be able to weather this 'storm' for as long as it lasts. Hope you are all finding creative ways not to go stir crazy. Take care! See more

Dr. Rosena began video consultations with patients in their own home on Tuesday and it's been going really well. it's an easy process and the video clarity is excellent. He continues to see patients in his office, spaced out so there are never 2 patients in the building at the same time. Dr. Rosena has also done a number of home visits and it's been a great experience. He feels good being able to stay connected and make sure everyone is doing okay. We remain open Monday to Friday. NO CO-PAY FOR VIDEO CONSULTATIONS!
