***Tuesday Tip*** Just because it's getting colder out does not mean we should stop exercising outside! Exercising in frigid temperatures actually increases the amount of calories burned! This means that if you keep exercising outside during the winter, it may be easier to lose weight! #winter #exercise #snowshoeing #fatloss
Snow shoveling season is approaching! Here are a couple tips to prevent back pain! 1. Warm up- get blood flow to the muscles before going outside to limber up. 2. Push rather than lift- pushing snow decreases the amount of strain on the body. When you do have to lift, be sure to use your legs.... 3. Choose your shovel wisely- make sure you are not using too large/heavy of a shovel and take lighter loads. 4. Take multiple trips and frequent breaks- pace yourself and take a break every 20-30 minutes, especially when the snow is wet. 5. Wear layers and stay hydrated- remove layers as needed to regulate body temperature.

Turn off the lights before bed- Avoid watching television or using a phone as excess light into the eyes decreases natural melatonin release from the brain. 2.) Don't use caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol right before bed- these substances decrease deep sleep. 3.) Avoid eating right before bed- A full stomach decreases sleep quality.... 4.)
