Swimming season means some will experience an outer ear canal infection - #otitisexterna . This is usually treated with topical antibiotic ear drops. However, sometimes the infection is so bad it needs a WICK. The wick soaks up the antibiotic drops and coats the canal with the solution. It’s usually removed after a couple of days. All posts are my personal patients. To book an appointment online go to DrEphrat.com #hearbetter #ear #earinfection #eardrainage #meningitis #hearingloss #medicalstudent #medstudent #entandallergy

Cocaine will eat away at your nose!! This patient has destroyed their nasal septum and now has a large perforation or hole. The septum normally separates your nose into two sides, it’s a dividing wall. Notice that besides all the scabbing, crusting and bleeding, you could see right through to the other side. If this progresses your nose can collapse and a saddle nose deformity will occur. However, 6 months into a clean lifestyle and doing saline irrigations you can see healthy tissue and a clear passage for airflow. It’s never too late to be healthy. Live clean, breathe better.

Exiting news for my patients suffering from chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps.

Nasal polyps are often removed in the office under local anesthesia. Drive yourself home afterwards.
