This Friday, December 11, the Fort Drum Sports/Fitness/Aquatics team is hosting an in-person, or virtual, Ugly Sweater 5K. In-Person means you self-time & run the actual 3.1 mile course (directional signs will be up). Virtual means that you self-time & run any 3.1 mile course. (i.e. in your neighborhood, at the park, etc).... OPTION 1: The in-person course starts and ends at the Magrath Sports Complex (10050 Tigris River Valley Road, Fort Drum) and will be set up on Friday, December 11. There is plenty of parking and it's a great opportunity to run as an unit. * The starting line, a big blow-up arch, will be visible from the parking area where you will register. We ask that you wear a mask and practice social distancing as you are at the registration area, as well as the start/finish line. Registration starts at 5:30am with the event kicking off at 6:30am. * We will be social distancing at the start/finish line. Stay with the group you came with. Groups will be released at different times for precautionary measures. OPTION 2: Virtual event- If you choose to run the Ugly Sweater 5K as a "virtual" event, you can run/walk anywhere you would like on Friday, December 11, until noon. * Complete a 5K (3.1miles) run or walk on December 11. * Use a running app to track your time and distance. * Post your photos and time using on the Fort Drum Sports/Fitness/Aquatics Facebook page. Look for the posting of the event and comment below with a selfie wearing your ugly sweater... Don't forget to share your time, too! All runners/walkers will be entered in a random drawing to win a $50 gift card to Starbucks - to help you stay warm! Virtual runners must submit their selfie and time no later than noon on Friday, December 11 to be entered for a chance to win. Encourage wearing your unit sweatshirt to build Army Esprit De Corps. Open to all DOD ID card holders, of all ages, at no cost. No Federal Endorsement Implied.

Happy Friday! What's going on this weekend? Saturday, January 9, Fort Drum Recreation is offering a Snowmobile Safety Class from 8am-1pm. Register TODAY over at their office located at 11115 Iraqi Freedom Drive. Cost for the class is $5 per person. Open to Soldiers, Families and DoD ID Card Holders ages 14 years and up.... Looking to get your fitness on? Get a start to your new year's fitness routine at Atkins Functional Fitness Facility. They will be open on Sunday, January 10 from 8am-4pm. We still have trees over at the back parking lot behind the Main Post Chapel! There are about 80 left! Trees will be available while supplies last. ...
