Our 2019 Healthcare Hackathon was a huge success that brought together area expertise to brainstorm solutions to some of healthcare's biggest challenges. As we began to plan for our 2020 hackathon, we reflected on the past 6 months. 2020 has been an unprecedented year of challenges that requires consideration and innovative solutions. D'Youville recognizes the barriers to access that individuals face both to healthcare and to higher education. For this reason, we decided to h...ost not one, but two hackathons this year - both completely virtual and free to sign up. Get a group of friends or a handful of colleagues and sign up now! Your creative project could be the next game-changing innovation. Together, we can reduce barriers and co-design solutions. Higher Ed Hackathon: Sept. 14-21 (Sign up now and submit your entry by the end of the week!) D'Youville's NEW Higher Ed Hackathon 2020 is a unique virtual competition that partners teams with organizations to co-develop a solution to one of higher education’s biggest challenges. Starting September 14, teams will work collaboratively to craft disruptive solutions for higher ed. After a week, they'll pitch their solutions via video and the top teams will be awarded prizes. Healthcare Hackathon: September 21-27 (Sign up now!) D'Youville's Healthcare Hackathon 2020 is a unique virtual competition that partners teams with community healthcare providers to develop solutions to our community's most plaguing healthcare problems. Starting on September 21, teams will work collaboratively to craft novel solutions for healthcare. After a week, they'll pitch their solutions via video and the top teams will be awarded prizes.

I graduated from D’Youville in 2007 with a Bachelors in Health Service and in 2010 with a doctorate in physical therapy. After graduating I found a passion for Geriatric rehabilitation and have worked a variety of therapy and administrative roles in the skilled nursing setting. Currently, I am working in the insurance industry overseeing utilization of inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient therapy services for 2 million NYS members. I rejoined D’Youville in 2019 as a membe...r of the alumni board of directors and enrolled in the post-graduate certificate program in Long-term care administration which I will complete December 2020 and will also be taking my Geriatric Clinical Specialist examination in March 2021. The best thing D’Youville gave me was my wife, Mary-Alice, a 2010 Bachelor or nursing graduate who is a nursing supervisor at Mt.
