Before calling an appliance repairman, there are several things you can do yourself. First, make sure it's plugged in and turned on, and that the circuit breaker or fuse doesn't need fixed. Then reset or replace the fuse or circuit breaker and test your appliance again.

The modern microwave has evolved to be more of an appliance than one used just for popping corn or reheating cold coffee. With larger interiors and advanced features, they can be used to complement conventional cooking process or to cook an entire meal.

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that tests devices for safe operation. A UL label is an indication that a product meets minimum safety standards. For a safer home or workplace, use products that are UL approved.
