2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: We are told in John's gospel that Pilate had a sign nailed to the cross that read, "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews". We read about this and think about how cruel it was to mock a man in his death. However, we find out here that there was something else nailed to the cross on that day. It was a list of all our sins against God and humanity! And this list wasn't nailed to the cross with cruelty...It was nailed there with love. Jesus, because of His great love, suffered the judgment that we deserved. The innocent paid the price for the guilty...so that we, the guilty, could be declared innocent of all charges...

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: This wonderful verse is telling us two things: First of all, it is saying that God is to be praised in every place that the light of the sun touches. That means that whatever location that you may be at today...That place is a sanctuary of praise. And secondly, this verse tells us that God is to be praised throughout the day. That means that throughout the day, we will have moments, opportunities when we can express our gratitude and our love, and our amazement to God. In other words, don't limit your praise to a certain time and location and go through the rest of our day as spiritual zombies. Let's us have hearts that are fully alive to God.

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: Years ago, when we lived in Pennsylvania, a family that lived near us had a pet deer that lived on the family property around their house. When deer hunting season came around, they tied an orange vest onto the deer in order to keep it from becoming a target. Likewise, there is a way in which we can avoid becoming an easy target for the evil one who prowls around seeking to devour and destroy: Submitting to God.. When you sit on the throne of your life...You become a very easy target. When God sits there, the evil one quickly leaves.

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: This is a rather familiar verse that we, as God's people, like to quote...We usually hear it being quoted on a bright sunny morning such as this one! It's funny, how we don't quote it on those mornings when we open the curtains and see a day full of dark clouds and cold rain. But, do we ever pause to give thought to what it means? It means that God is the author of this day! And this is true on sunny days as well as rainy ones. In fact, this verse probably more meaningful for us on the rainy ones. It's a good reminder to us that whatever difficulty we see out on the landscape before us, our sovereign God is still on the throne, still in control, and ready, willing, and able to bring us through it. And therefore we can rejoice and be glad.

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: Jesus here reminds us that Shepherds don't drive sheep. They lead them by walking in front of them and talking to them. So, if you want to lie down in green pastures, be lead by still waters, walk the righteous path through the valley of the shadow of death...Don't be led by the bleating of the other sheep. Listen for, and follow, the wise and gentle voice of the Good Shepherd, as He leads you out today.

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: Anxiety is often the result of envisioning a future without God's sustaining love and care. So how do we lower our anxiety levels? Well, Jesus here recommends that we do a couple of things. [1] Don't spend too much of your time in the future, the more we linger in the land of "what ifs," the more susceptible we become to thinking about worst-case scenarios. [2] Live in the present...in the presence of God. The more you see Him involved in this world, the more confident you will be about the world to come.

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: Are you contagious? (And I'm not talking about Covid-19) Let me explain, David begins this Psalm by prodding himself to worship. Prodding himself to be fully engaged in worship. Prodding himself to recount all the blessings of God. Which he then does! And by the end of this psalm, his heart is so full of the adoration and worship of God that he even calls upon the angelic hosts and the entirety of the universe to join in the worship of God. Is your heart full? Are you contagious? The worship of God starts with ourselves...but it doesn't stay with ourselves. Don't contain your worship...be contagious with it.

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: It feels great to look great...doesn't it? Sometimes we get the opportunity to put on our best clothes, our best shoes, spend a little more time on ourselves in the bathroom... and voila! We feel good! However, if you were to look at me right now in my home office...you would see that my hair is not combed yet, I'm wearing an old second-hand t-shirt, pajama pants, wool socks, and a pair of Crocs...yes, Crocs! I won't send you the picture...it's not very flattering. And spiritually speaking, that's how we look to God when dressed in our own righteousness. However, when we put our faith in Christ as Savior, God dresses us in Christ's righteousness! And let me tell you...we look utterly fantastic! It feels great to look great!

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: We live in a world that is too often enslaved to "The Tyranny of the Urgent." And so we rush into and out of our times of fellowship with God. And during those time times of fellowship, instead of taking TIME to really listen and converse with God...We hear the clock ticking seconds off our day. The next thing you know, we're jumping up and running headlong into the world to tackle the tasks before us. In order to WAIT for God...we need to learn a couple of things: [1] We need to learn to be the master of our time/tasks....not their slave, and [2] We need to learn to live in the presence of God throughout our busy day. STOP running around...WAIT for God...WALK with Him.

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: Notice that it's Jesus standing outside our door, knocking, wanting to come in and fellowship with us... it's not us standing at His door. Jesus is always the visitor outside our door, our job is to open up the wall of our hearts and let Him in. How do we do that? We use the doorway! ...The doorway of Scripture, the doorway of Worship, the doorway of Prayer. Jesus doesn't stand outside a wall. He always stands outside a doorway...go find it and let Him in!

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: We have a neighbor who always seems to have a large puddle in his front yard. Why? It's because his front yard happens to be the lowest spot in our neighborhood. Whenever it rains, or the snow melts; all the water runs down the hill to fill up that low spot. In the same way, we all have low spots, we all have weaknesses. The worse thing we can do is to deny it. The best thing we can do is to freely admit those low spots; those weaknesses to God. When we do that, God's grace and power come flooding in like water to give us the strength we need to overcome them.

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: If I were to condense these verses to one sentence it would be this: "Love thinks of another's well-being first." ...which is something that is very easy to say...but not's so easy to do. The reason it's so hard is because...we tend to ride the "ME!" bus throughout the entire day. We are constantly thinking about how things affect me... "Is this thing helping me or hurting me?" "Is this thing making me look good or bad?" Are things going the way I want them to go or not?" Perhaps if we rode the "OTHERS!" bus a little bit more every day, ...we can actually love others like these verses tell us to love them.

East Shore Christian Fellowship 30.11.2020

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: If I were to condense this verse down to one practical thought, it would be this: "Love has an optimistic view of people and circumstances." Now, this doesn't mean that love is blind to reality. But it means that love doesn't look at people and circumstances with a negative mindset. Love doesn't focus on "What is." ...It is focused on "What can be" and "What will be" and that is why it is able to bear, believe, hope, and endure all things. For the Christian, the glass is not half empty, or half full. For the Christian, the glass, "runneth over."

East Shore Christian Fellowship 13.11.2020

2021 DAILY BIBLE CHALLENGE: Whenever the Bible uses the word, "walk," it is using it to describe the way in which we live our daily life. In his letter to the believers in Galatia, the Apostle Paul says that there are two ways that a believer can walk through life. They can walk by listening to the voice of their selfish feelings and desires...or...they can walk by listening to the voice of God's Spirit which also indwells them. So which one should we choose to listen to? Well, it all depends upon the kind of fruit you want to produce in your life today...

We as a church are offering to provide delivery services, errands, and assistance to those who are ill or may be concerned about going out in public during this viral epidemic. Message us and let us know how we can help you!

East Shore Christian Fellowship 27.08.2020

Greetings Church, In order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus within our congregation and community; we have suspended our Sunday services for the remaining Sundays in March (the 22nd and 29th). We have decided this...not out of a spirit of panic... but out of a sense of precaution and as a service to our community. As many of you know, this virus is not "the flu;" it is a Covid virus that severely attacks the respiratory system and needs to be taken very seriously. ...We are currently investigating what sort of online presence we will be offering to you as an alternative to our Sunday morning Worship Service and we will make it known to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, we as a church are offering to provide delivery services, errands and assistance to those who are ill or may be concerned about going out in public. Please be aware that there will be more postings with more information coming your way soon. And please pray that God will stay the spread of this invisible enemy. Pastor Glenn
