Wear high heels often? It wouldn’t be surprising if you experience back pain too. As the size of the heel increases, your weight continues to shift forward, causing your low back to take more of the brunt of your daily activities. When thinking of the perfect shoe for that outfit, try to opt for something with arch support and greater weight distribution.

Not only does sitting for prolonged periods increase your risk of chronic disease and untimely death, but it contributes to many musculoskeletal conditions. It’s important to get up and stand throughout your work day, especially if you’re working from home now! Try a standing desk if possible and move as often as you can.
Discs act as cushions in your spine and protect you from impacts during everyday life. Over time, these discs can show signs of wear and tear, causing the inner jelly-like material of the disc to bulge out. Sounds painful right? Not necessarily. Many have disc degeneration, arthritic changes in the spine, and disc bulges without exhibiting any symptoms. If pain does start to emerge at any time, it is likely due to some chemical irritation from the disc irritating surrounding... nerves and tissues (which is totally treatable!) If these things pop up, you know who to contact. Otherwise, have comfort in knowing while these things aren’t normal, they are common and they are treatable if necessary.
How is your gut health? Here are some signs that your gut health could use some work: -recurrent UTIs or yeast infections -stomach upset & indigestion -unintentional weight changes -sleep disturbances... -chronic fatigue -skin irritation (such as eczema) -chronic pain & inflammation -food intolerances -often sick with colds, flus, etc. -poor concentration -chronic constipation/diarrhea A good microbiome is incredibly important for maintaining a healthy nervous and immune system, ESPECIALLY during a pandemic. Great sources of good bacteria? Probiotics (and prebiotics), fermented foods such as kombucha, kefir, or kimchi, and avoiding high sugar foods.
