Statement from ECOP: It has has been brought to our attention that a former employee has been posting several things on Facebook that are insensitive and racist. While this person lists East Coast Orthotic & Prosthetic Corp. as his employer, this individual has not been employed by us for several months. We do not condone anything that he has stated and he is not representative of our diverse, progressive company that employs over 230 people in New York. We are living in challenging times and we believe that no persons or group of persons should feel less than anyone else. We stand in solidarity with our colleagues, patients, and the community in denouncing racism and all the forms it may take.

Earlier this week, I toured East Coast Orthotic & Prosthetic Corp., the largest privately-owned and board-certified orthotic and prosthetic company in the metro...politan area. Their Deer Park headquarters employs more than 220 people that are high-skilled and well-trained in the latest technology and developments to accurately produce better fitting and functioning orthotic and prosthetic devices. The key to our economic future lies in building a better-skilled workforce for the benefit of our local businesses, like ECO&P, and middle-class communities.

17 years ago, 2,996 people were killed and more than 6,000 others injured following the devastating terrorist attacks on our nation. Today is referred to Patriot Day in the United States and we reflect on all those lives lost from these attacks and those who continue to be affected due to 9/11-related illnesses. We also want to take time to reflect on all the families of the survivors, that they continue to be strengthened through this time of reflection. May the lives lost on that date never be forgotten.

This fall, East Coast Orthotic & Prosthetic Corp.'s very own Abbi Reynolds will be participating in the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon (NYC)as part of the non-profit organization New York Road Runners Team for Kids. The TLS New York City Marathon is 26.219 miles long and will be held this year on Sunday, November 6. NYRR Team for Kids' main focus is to prevent childhood obesity by setting up running based programs within NYC’s five boroughs. As part of her participation wi...th Team for Kids, Abbi is fundraising with the group. The funds raised by runners will go towards: - Training coaches, teachers, field managers and coordinators, most of whom are volunteers. - Entry fees for races and running activities that children would like to participate in. - Incentives for children to encourage them to attend events and practices, demonstrate sportsmanship, and strive for fitness and personal milestones. On Monday, June 27th, East Coast O&P Corp (ECOP) sponsored and participated in the 8th Annual Buffalo Amputee Golf Classic at the Brierwood Country Club in Hamb...urg, NY. Amputees Darryl Meyers, Travis Buchanan and Bill Pearce joined Trish Andres as participants in the event. The proceeds raised support 2 amputee-oriented programs: Eastern Amputee Golf Association (EAGA) scholarship fund and Camp No Limits (No Limits Limb Loss Foundation).
