Eastwood Bears family, It is with heavy heart that we have made the decision to forego the 2020 Pop Warner season. At this time we feel that we are not in a position to ensure the safety of our children, family and friends. The protocols put in place however manageable are very extensive and still puts many at risk. The protocols are changing daily and as we see multiple organizations across the country weighing on the side of caution by foregoing there season also. We have s...een multimillion dollar organization (Colleges) get infected and have to quarantine. We do not want to put all of your families at risk by not only our children but the visiting teams as well as all their fans from multiple counties that could be on the sidelines. Protocol includes: ALL PARENTS, SPECTATORS, AND COACHES TO WEAR FACE MASKS AT ALL TIMES REGARDLESS OF SOCIAL DISTANCING. We feel this would be out of our control also. Children would need to be temp checked before practice, ball wiped down and disenfected between plays, all equipment disinfected between use of each player, no more than 5 people allowed in clubhouse at 1 time, extensive cleaning of all vending machine buttons, counters door handles multiple times and hour, and so on. We feel the risk is not worth the reward and do not want to see anyone get sick due to a missed precaution. We as volunteers are also concerned about our safety as well.
