Eisner Dictor & Lamadrid, P.C. 11.05.2021

50 years ago Eugene Eisner founded a labor law firm that would become the predecesor of Eisner Dictor & Lamadrid. This year, after more than half a century as a partner in the firm, Gene has taken emeritus status and will continue to practice as special outside counsel to the firm. We are honored and humbled to carry on the mission of the firm to which Gene has committed his life and career: Law in the Service of Working People.

Since our amazing kickoff event and campaigning this week, we’ve yet to see the local union officials publicly contradict us, debate us, or attempt to talk abou...t any of the issues our members desperately want addressed in our local. The current board and their appointed stewards have resorted to privately spreading misinformation, their typical "whisper and lie campaigns," and now a bunch of divisive and shameful memes they've been sending around in the feeder department attempting to divide our members on race and national politics instead of trying to bring members together. Our slate, our 512 Teamsters United movement, and our union, the Teamsters, is a diverse union. We have many members of differing views, cultural backgrounds, certainly different political points of view. We say Teamsters United because we believe we can, and must bring all our members together around the common issues of the workplace & the labor movement: strong contracts, actual enforcement of contracts, member control, and ending corruption in our union. When we say member control, we mean just that. The personal and individual views of stewards and union officers should be left at the doors of the union hall and the gates when you come to work! We will fight for every member regardless of their personal views, their cultural background, or their political beliefs-- that is the duty of union stewards & union officers, and part of our oath as Teamsters! Everyone on our slate and in our movement is committed to that principle. No longer will our union run on the whims of a few union officials, but instead it will be based on democratic principles of giving the members in every department, every shift, and every worksite the power to direct this union. Our slate and our movement is committed to running an open, transparent campaign to address & communicate publicly and respectfully with ALL our members, whether they support us or not, and hear their concerns and respectfully campaign, not sling mud. We believe the underhanded tactics of attempting to divide our members on race & national politics is a strategy commonly used by employers & management, and one which does a disservice to building SOLIDARITY among all members of 512. We encourage members from all sides, let’s run a clean, transparent campaign focused on the issues, that unites our members and leaves this union in a better place come January 1st regardless of the outcome of the election! Our pledge is we will be absolutely open and transparent; we will respectfully talk with and communicate with all the members, regardless of their support for us or the local union officials, to hear their views and concerns, and to fight for them and treat them with the same respect and support, regardless whether they plan to vote for us or not. If you have questions, reach out to us! We are always happy to speak with the members and let them hear both sides of the story. Message our page and someone from the slate will contact you!
