This current pandemic has made finding and hiring reliable staff to work in senior care even more challenging. Here are some proven strategies to attract people with a genuine heart for elder care. 1. Define the soft skills and character traits you're looking to attract 2. Lead with the Mission and Purpose of your organization... 3. Use employee testimonials for an authentic & relatable message- their story is a recruitment tool! 4. Describe your culture in a way that will resonate with potential employees (i.e. team-based, employee appreciation, opportunities for advancement, mission-driven, etc.) 5. Appoint engaging managers to interview and select new team members, serving as your organizational "ambassadors" 6. Assess and refresh your messaging on your social media, website's careers landing page, and job postings. How do you stand out among your competition? 7. Encourage collaboration between Human Resources and Marketing for an intentional, relevant and creative recruitment program To learn more, email our Vice President, Tony Coccitto at [email protected] #recruiting #recruitingseniorcare #seniorcarejobs #seniorcareservices #seniorlove #seniorcare #recruitment #recruiterlife #recruitingnow #recruitingtips

It may be difficult to find motivation to be active as colder temperatures approach. This winter, you can stay warm and stay safe with these helpful tips! Shovel the driveway, instead of plow. Bundle up and go for a walk. Take your kids or grandkids out sledding. Exercise boosts our immune system, which we all could use, especially this winter. Did you know that yesterday was National Giving Day? Otherwise known as #GivingTuesday, millions of people around the world are encouraged to take the time to give to others. In more than 70+ countries around the world, leaders share the values of "#GivingTuesday", building a generous world. To celebrate this day at Eklego, we donated to the ROC Community Cupboard, a local food shelter. The Cupboard delivers food to more than 200 families daily! Just a week before Thanksgivi...ng, a fire destroyed some of their facility, causing damage and a loss of supplies but, fortunately, no injuries. The Rochester Fire Dept was able to save a significant amount of donations, and after a brief pause, the Cupboard is up and running again, collecting and distributing food to community members in need. Pictured above are some of the donations collected by our staff. You can make a difference today! Visit the ROC Community Cupboard website to donate. http://www.rochesterfoodcupboard.org/

Happy Friday Today's #FridayFocus is dedicated to 97-year-old Carter Williams, who recently passed away after leaving a legacy with the senior community. Ms. Williams played a crucial part in the passing of the "1987 Nursing Home Reform Act," which required nursing facilities to maintain the "physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident." Did you know that during the 1980's, 41% of nursing home residents were put in restraints every day? In New York, the f...igure was 60%. Ms. Williams, a determined social worker, brought light to this issue and influenced a law that focused on "individualized care", and made nursing homes more "humane". Ms. Williams continues to influence those around her as her work has made a difference during the pandemic. The coronavirus has changed schedules and daily routines, while individualized, humane care is more important than ever. We thank Ms. Williams for devoting her life to nursing home cultural change! Happy Friday! Today's #FridayFocus is a reminder for ALL healthcare and essential workers to take a deep breath and practice self-care! As the temperatures start to cool down and the leaves begin to change, take a walk, and enjoy the crisp air. Read a book. Stream a yoga class. Bake a fall-inspired treat. Go for a drive. Organize your closet. Create a gratitude list. Some Eklego employees find rejuvenation by taking lunchtime nature walks and reflecting the beauty of nearby p...onds.
